I've got a lot of original EM arcade game schematics and manuals for sale. Mostly EM gun games, but some other EM styles as well:
    https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/65003

Hopefully this is not frowned upon to promote my own forsale ad here.

    Quoted from PinballAir:

I picked up the Twin Rifle game.
Fully working. Has topper and 8 track player.
I cannot decide whether to repaint it or not.
Before I make one, does anyone have a source for the stylus contact ?

I would contact pinball resource www.pbresource.com

Not sure if they have something but they might know who does. If you have a part number that would be helpful for when you call or email them.

Check your stylus pcb's my CC Big Top had spare stylus's attached to each board you might get lucky.

Yeah, I saw the holes for the spares as well as the label saying the spares go there. Unfortunately they have already been used.

Does anyone have a "parts game" or parts for 1955 United Deluxe Carnival gun? I'm looking for the wiper board, yoke parts, arm and comb (or stylus) for a 1955 United Deluxe Carnival gun. I believe the parts would be similar or identical on a United Jungle gun. I have access to a game that could be recovered, restored if those parts to could located. Pictures below inside the area missing the parts.

Please PM if you have anything.

    Thanks

    Nate

Someone I know just called and said they have an old gun game they want to have me come buy/get. He bought it years ago, so it must of worked at some point and has been in a house since.

Is there an average value on a non rare/grail game?

What is the best way to move one? Upright in a truck or can I lay it flat in my Jeep or trailer?
Do these weigh more than a pinball? I just hear they are heavy!

    #861 5 years ago

I'm no expert, but I believe you can lay them down on their back. Just be careful of any back glass / trans lights. Also, usually the gun can read be removed with just a couple of screws or Alan's set screws. They are much heavier than pinball. Since you can break down a pinball into at least two parts. They usually weigh 300 plus pounds!

300 lbs is about right. I (barely) fit a Midway Captain Kidd laying on its side in my girlfriend's 2017 Jeep Renegade. Definitely take the rifle off. I'd leave the backglass in unless it's very easy to pop out.
That being said, a lot of the Chicago Coin and other rifle games look like they get BIG. Ask for some pictures and assess from there.
For cost $200-400 is about right for a project in my opinion.
Be sure you get all the parts he has, parts for these games are extremely difficult if not impossible to find.

    #863 5 years ago

Man I was all pumped today, called and he didn't have time to show me. I guess it is in a estate? or garage sale tomorrow...He thinks it won't sell, I don't believe that, but missed the boat on this one :/ Maybe he'll call me tomorrow AM to get in before the sale. I was hopeful, now I'm sad.. I've been eyeing up a em shooter for a few years.

    #864 5 years ago

Guy called and said he could keep them out of the sale. The gun game is a carnival theme. He’s going to snap pics for me now if the gun game and multicade 30 or 60-1. Getting excited! But googling carnival em gun game, they look bigger than some others (United)

Are 8track replacements or new version replacements available? He said it was working when it was put away but the music he wasn’t sure was original.

Yup! It’s mine! He was able to save it for me. I’ll pick it up Monday.

    Edit:
I found zitt made a pcb sound board for this and other games! Just curious as I have zero idea how these work. Does this replace the 8track or was that just ambient music and this is the in game shooting music?

    http://pinball-mods.com/blogs/?p=492

    #869 5 years ago

The sound boards on these early games are generally easy to work on.
Figuring out what parts are actually on the boards can be difficult to figure out.
Some have discreet part numbers on them.
I usually change the caps , the pots and the carbon resistors.
Another manufacturer of boards was allied leisure.
Schematics are nearly impossible to find.

    #870 5 years ago

your gonna need the original(or repro) tape.pretty sure the type of 8 track player is not important but the tape is.like most ems im sure its gonna need some service.but its an excellent game. good luck.

    picbasess.jpgpicbasess.jpg
    #871 5 years ago

    Ahh man! Picked it up!

Guy mentioned the 8 track player works, but the tape isn’t original.

Which screw(s) should I undo to get the gun off? It won’t fit in the elevator at work with the gun on.

The best way should be under the stock , Not exactly sure which screws but the ones near the trigger guard ,
If you can get the stock loose , ease the wire through a little as you lift up the gun , just a few inches , careful of the 2 wires that go to the trigger switch , and then just twist the gun sideways , rest it or support it with a blanket or something .
leave the bottom area alone if you can , so it wont all need re adjusting .

2nd idea , If your cabinet has a hinged lid and you can unplug all the wires?
Take the hinge fixings out and remove the complete gun and lid .
My friend has this game , I can check with him if the second idea will work ...
    good luck

    #873 5 years ago

On my twin rifle game there are 2 allen head screws , one goes down thru the bolt at the top and the other comes up from the stock the metal base.

    #874 5 years ago

Thanks guys! Just got done getting it upstairs. The lid for the gun has wing nuts and carriage bolts. I got those out, unplugged and it came off easy peasy.

Game comes up, resets but no targets come up. Gun fires and makes the pew pew noise, but I’ll have to clean up the relay/switches just like an em pin I bet. One black light tube is out.

Is the standard light bulb a normal (non black light) bulb? I see two t8 looking bulbs and I think those are the black lights.

Cab has no keys so I’ll have to drill the locks on the back and kick panel. Coin door was already drilled.

Great looking game! The artwork seems to be in great shape. I love the cigarette holders! How heavy was that thing?! That dolly doesn't look like it could handle that cab!

Yes 2 of these standard clear 'Cab display hit light' and 'Shooting Gallery hit light' the others are the 2 black lights .
You will need to clean the switches on the timer unit in the headbox , I found its the switches on this that cause the most troubles , and clean the rest of the steppers, reels etc ,
My friends game is missing the original game 8 track and just has a music 8 track fitted , funky mid 70's tunes , seems the music plays a bit slow , but sounds okay .
well done , you will love the features it has , shooting gallery , the ferris wheel has timed shots and the pogo stick man that flashes back and forth across the screen ..

Ya! It isn’t bad on the cab at all, just the lower back glass is flaking. I haven’t sealed a BG yet but I have a couple games now to do so may be the time to try.

The game is heavy, but I had two friends helping and the dolly had no issue with it. It’s 250lbs? Felt about as heavy as a sys3 gottlieb game.

Ahhh, are there two 8track tapes in this game? Or did it get split by channel? The gun does the pew pew but the music is something else. I’ll clean and get new bulbs but yes the game as so many different targets so it should be a great first gun game!

My big question is adding a solenoid for recoil, is that a thing?

Just the one 8 track , The pew pew sound is from the sound board , Look up Clays repair site , he has the sounds that the original 8 track plays .
That coil is available , They get red hot and tend to burn out . a new coil will be okay , if its just getting used at home , just make sure the slide mech is clean and moves freely

    #879 5 years ago

I found a new toy at the PPM sale a couple weeks ago - a 1954 United Deluxe Carnival Gun. It appears to be nearly complete, missing just the gun and a few feet of the wiring harness from head to innards.

Ahhh, this is part of that “enhanced” em, the pew pew? I see clays guide and downloaded the MP3, and ya it just has music and the guy at the end of a game saying something to play again. I don’t have any gear for 8track so I was kind of thinking of building zitts replacement board that runs an MP3.

Ah the game did have recoil. I’ll have to start digging into it soon!

Picked up CC Apolla Moon Shot Rifle today. Nearly complete. Need to find a credit wheel and doubt it’s possible but also the sound board. Needs a deep clean, if fires up it’s just stuck in the middle of a game, steppers barley move.

eBay for the credit wheel should be easy as one from a pinball machine from that year should be the same and for the sound board you could check with John's Jukes.

Picked this up today the guy I purchased it from imported it from the states in 2012 and was going to do it up. We've all heard that before, game is dirty but complete and no hacks, I'll be ordering a new backglass from BG Resto and will be going through and cleaning every thing. Gun games are rare here in Perth Western Australia so I take any opportunity to buy them when they come available. Just need to find a manual and schematics if any pinsiders out they can help me track down a copy that would be great.
