I noticed that the Retro Video Game FS/WTB thread (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/ot-wtb-nes-snes-n64-sega-dreamcast-games-and-the-like) was getting pretty warm with discussion, so I figured it'd be best to make a separate club thread for users to talk about retro games, consoles, and handhelds.

In addition to just talking about the games, this is a great place to share pictures of your collection, share what your favorite games and systems are, as well as other things of that nature.

Let me start it off by posting a few pictures of my collection. This is only a bit of it, I have a few more shelves of stuff but they were too much of a mess right now so I'll get pictures of those up once I clean them up. Also a bought a few lots of stuff from Pinsiders lately that I haven't put on shelves yet. Anyways, here's the pics.

Sure, make my collection look like a joke right off the bat...lol..

Was amused by the mention of Funcoland. I bought my Atari Jaguar from a Funcoland. Don't remember what the exact price was, but it was in the hard shell case (broken lock hinge, grr.), with a handful of games, and price was VERY reasonable. I think they had just taken it in, paid next to nothing for it, and had no idea how to price it... believe I paid about the cost of a new SNES game at the time. I distinctly remember being a bit speechless when they told me the price.

That's pretty sweet. With the internet and GameStop being so big now it'd probably be crazy hard to find a deal like that on a newish system.

The Jaguar's towards the top of the list of consoles I want to buy. Its controller gets lots of hate, but honestly I like it.

i miss my turbo xpress (pardon my possible misspelling). used to play alot of r-type and neutopia on that bad boy. sold that and 15-20 games for less than what neutopia is currently worth!

it'd probably be crazy hard to find a deal like that on a newish system.

I picked up a PS4 with 7 retail games, a 2 year extended warranty, with the packaging and an extra controller, the guy's PS account which has a handful of PS plus games on it for like 300 bucks 2 months ago..

I've got boxes for about 2/3rds of mine. I've also got a few consoles that aren't pictured like my Turbografx with CD, TurboDuos, Action Max, Odyssey, and Vectrex.

Your collection is hella badass though. I'd say it's pretty much a dream collection.

#20 8 years ago

Ill post the balance of my collection soon ! Love to share !

Not sure how everyone feels about emulation but if you are into it and happen to be looking for a cool little project, check out the PiGRRL 2. I picked up the parts for it the other day and was able to complete it in about 6 hours. Some light soldering is required and assembly but it is awesome. It runs off of a Pi 2 (or 3) and emulates everything really well. Been having a lot of fun with this thing! If you are looking for a handheld that can carry all of your games, this is it!
