Quoted from o-din:

Sometimes I used to regret spending beautiful sunny southern Calfornia fall days on the couch watching football all day just to see my teams choke at the last minute. But not today, especially after finding myself in the Lazyboy at 5 am with Metallica on still playing One in between balls, and an unfinished bevvy beside me. What the hell happened?

Its called the Good life!

I don't personally know any sports fan that likes Costas. Why is that baffoon considered a great sports journalist? He's always bringing politics into sports.

Quoted from centerflank:

what does the temp matter, its in a dome

Wait for the Super Bowl as whoever makes it has to play in a un-domed (met life)stadium. This will be the first Super Bowl to be played outdoors in a cold weather environment, the first in 38 years to be played outdoors on artificial turf No Florida warm weather.
Old school football in Lambeau for the Super Bowl would be nice too. Maybe the NFL will do a cold tour for more Sb`s.
Hope we get a Nor'easter when its played.

#993 10 years ago

Even better yet!
As the first Super Bowl held at an open stadium in a city with cold weather, planners initially indicated there would not be a halftime show at all due to the weather.
One such logistical problem that could arise is trying to assemble and disassemble the halftime show stage during a cold blizzard.

The Texas Department of Safety is cracking down on speeders heading into Dallas. For the first offense, they give you 2 Dallas Cowboy tickets. If you get stopped a second time, they make you use them.

Q.What do the Dallas Cowboys and Billy Graham have in common?

Q.How do you keep a Dallas Cowboy out of your yard?

Q.What do you call a Dallas Cowboy with a Super Bowl ring?
A.Old

Get rid of the female sideline reporters. They add absolutely nothing to the game.

Not really,^^listening to some game announcers are what really annoys me,whether your team is winning or losing they get like nails on a chalkboard. Rambling on about players and this and that is what makes me press the mute button a lot.

Why couldnt it be Feb 2 with this weather their getting now.
Rutherford NJ

North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

#2420 10 years ago

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman opposes holding the game at MetLife Stadium, stating that "it's the league's responsibility to show its audience the best possible product, and this can't happen in the snow.

Awww too bad. Man up!

The decision to play the game in New York is made even more controversial by the fact that the NFL informed the Miami Dolphins that Sun Life Stadium would never host another Super Bowl until they put a roof over the stadium for fear of rain.

Wussification of a America at its finest.

#2452 10 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I think they also decided LA will never host another game, let alone a Super Bowl. WTF?

I think the LA riots were a big help in that decision, look at what happens to some sports teams winning a championship, cars upside down on fire, windows of stores with smash and grab shopping ,you know the drill.

#2455 10 years ago
Quoted from Erik:

relocate to LA

Dibs on the team name the LA R....

#2458 10 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

The problem with football in LA started when both the Raiders and the Rams left at the same time.

Yeah that does leave a big void if your a football fan and both teams split out of town.
The NYG and NYJ share a stadium and it works quite well.

Quoted from o-din:

Some investors are talking downtown, but that would be a clusterf@#k.

Same deal with Shea stadium way back, N.J. is way better to get in and around to the games there. NYC can be a nightmare especially if you are not familiar with it.

Quoted from o-din:

So they go back and forth, and nothing gets done.

Sounds familiar in some other inner circles.

I honestly think there should be no Pro Bowl.

Ditto^^,watch the baseball all-star game if you want to see the tops in sports, not worth losing a player due to injury.
Bring back the Qb challenge!

Quoted from centerflank:

maybe even let a select number of fans take snaps in the game and really integrate them into it,

Sounds like a good idea if you allow it at preseason practices.

#2529 10 years ago

NJ wasnt so bad for the Super Bowl ,hope they do it again in the near future.
Even the half time show was pretty good for once.

#2568 10 years ago
Quoted from karmalord:

Seahawk fan since they came into the league in the mid '70's in the AFC.

The Seahawks are the only NFL team to switch conferences twice in the post-merger era. The franchise began play in 1976 in the NFC West division but switched conferences with the Buccaneers after one season and joined the AFC West.

#2570 10 years ago
Quoted from centerflank:

I vote they go back to the AFC

And go back to their old uniforms too.

#2572 10 years ago
Quoted from centerflank:

Yeah, the new uni's arent bad but I love a lot of the leagues classic uni's, not throwback uni's....Steelers throwbacks are the worst with those socks! LOL!

I liked the old Seahawks colors, but those bright green ones they wore.
Seen here > http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/09000d5d828150f7
No doubt those Steelers uniforms are awful.

Quoted from centerflank:

1) Go strictly by record, division winner isnt guaranteed a home game in the wild card round but guaranteed a birth

I agree^

Quoted from centerflank:

2) Do not split by AFC/NFC, seed 1-12 regardless of conference, eliminate bye week from Conf. Championship game to Superbowl.

Sounds good^,in fact i would go a little further with the bye weeks, for the regular season i would eliminate the random week to week format and replace it with a mid season bye for all the teams at once.

Quoted from centerflank:

*and have the Superbowl in a warm climate zone unless in a dome

Nah , thats what football is all about, weather should play a role in the game imo, besides if it was held in other cities this year that are usually warm they would still be playing in unpredictable weather patterns anyway from what was going on these past few weeks.
I vote lambeau field as a Super bowl host.

#2576 10 years ago
Quoted from centerflank:

Ha! Well, I just want to see the best game possible in the final game,

The colder weather was not an issue when the Seahawks buried the Broncos, if anything if it had snowed it would have slowed the game down a bit and maybe kept the game a little more competitive.
They play games in the regular season in all kinds of weather,so why drift away from that tradition, reminds me too much of arena football.

#2591 10 years ago

So it turns out that the Chili Peppers were not really playing live at halftime.

What ? they have Milli Vanilli syndrome.

#2597 10 years ago

NOOOOOOO!!! ^ I do not want Vick.

Rather have this scenario > New York Jets are eyeing McCown as their next backup QB, and he looks like a reliable, one-year option as an insurance policy in case Geno Smith doesnt progress as planned. McCown would be a solid, safe signing for the Jets organization.

Quoted from teekee:

The media loves to pound their agenda in to us. They know they pretty much control our thought process and they take advantage of that as often as they can.

Conform or be cast out.
I went to a public meeting the other day to vent issues in my county (lone wolf unfortunately) and to deaf ear i gave them a verbal spanking w/o even cursing to my surprise, all we can do is wait till people wake up and finally see what is at stake.

Until then sit back and enjoy the ride.
