I want the Bears to keep both Fields and Williams and have been saying this from the beginning. This is the only way to get a true reading and get the right guy. Play them both and keep the best by the trade deadline. You have to understand that this is the Bears, so they need to remove any ounce of chance they can.

There’s a huge difference between walking in their locker room in ‘21 and ‘24 going under center. Night and Day.

By the way, I would be 100% fine going with Fields if they got a decent deal for the top pick. You have the only QB in the league that is worth the max contract for that position imo. Outside of Mahommes there will be no shortage of overpaid QBs in the league. Look at Cousins. He’s the poster boy for mediocracy.

For Atl, Cousins is a good QB that will mostly do the right things until it comes to playing in Jan.

Cousins has had a string of good seasons for sure, I just would rather spread that money out as he’s not the type of QB that makes everyone better, hence the playoff record. I’m just disgusted that the best season I’ve ever seen from a QB was Eric Kramer in the mid 90s, just short of 4k and 30. I’m just at the point where I’m done with the carousel. I think a lot of people here are and ready to let Fields grow into the role. I would be more than happy with that outcome if they get enough for that pick. I agree with you it’s a total crapshoot until they play at the NFL level.
