Quoted from jesster64:

Pre-season is pure BS. although i do love when sanchez throws a pick, pre-season or not. Look for RGIII to go out with a knee re-injury sooner rather than later.

Griffin won't be taking a single snap in pre-season. I also would'nt be surprised if he doesn't play week one. I hope he does but if he's not 100% then sit him until he is. As a Skins fan I'm cautiously optimistic about this season. Things are starting to look up after stinking it up for so long. Do I think they'll win the SB? No. But I do think if they stay healthy they have a legitimate shot at the NFC East. Hopefully they get a rematch with the Seahawks again. 4th times a charm right?

I’m torn on this years super bowl. Can’t bring myself to root for philly as I’m a skins fan and if they win I can’t dog them on never winning the big game anymore. Don’t want to root for the patriots because I have no excuse other than I’m a hater. Either way hopefully it’s a good game, with essentially no rooting interest that’s all I can hope for.

Quoted from TheLaw:

It's also assumed to be louder against the visiting team. It's the same advantage every home team has in the league and always has.

You’ve clearly never been to fedex field.

Quoted from Colsond3:

I agree on that front. I read all of his court cases, and there was a lot going on there. Without arguing about it, unlike a lot of other “celebrities” that pull a card or pull strings to get off with a slap on the wrist, he served his time with no questions asked. I’m a dog lover, so I absolutely hate what he did and was involved in.
I was merely referencing his abilities as a quarterback and how talented he was.

I was at the Monday night massacre at fedex. Man he torched the skins that night. Went with some skins and eagles fans from work. Other than the bitch slap the skins got it was actually an enjoyable time with friends.

Quoted from JodyG:

Phil Rivers is going to be the last man standing soon. The guy has like 9 kids already...give him a couple more seasons and he will be able populate an entire offense and defense with his own spawn.

I’m sure a few guys have 9 kids in the nfl.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

He's writing a lot of checks I would guess. He once needed the Jets to front him $500,000 for child support.
I do feel for the guy. He had a vasectomy!! That's one virile dude.

Or he went out and got a woman pregnant right afterwards. They tell you you’re not immediately sterile after the procedure.

#14106 4 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I really need to stop reading about this...
But apparently he's had THREE since the procedure. Coulda been a busy week for him but I'm starting to think his sperm is simply too powerful to be contained by modern medicine.

Haha holy shit.

#14123 4 years ago
Quoted from ryanwanger:

This concerns me about a vasectomy. I mean, if it doesn't work 100% of the time, then why do it?

Not to steer this off topic, but it’s a pretty low percentage that they don’t take the first time if done correctly. The kicker is though, you’re not sterile right after the procedure. It can take weeks to essentially flush the pipes clean.

#14404 4 years ago

At this point I kind of hope the redskins compete with the dolphins for the worst record of the season. I wasn't expecting them to win, but damn they have been horrible. I will admit I have laughed a bit at the look on Gruden's face after the turnovers.

Quoted from Rondogg:

You should try being a Patriots fan: you defend an accusation you're a whiner, you lose a game and everyone celebrates, you win a game and you're a cheater! It's horrible I tell you, HORRIBLE!!!!!

Well look at you. You’re in here whining.

Cheater.

#15384 4 years ago

Washington is going to get smoked.

Kind of sad how far they’ve fallen. Fortunately the Nats have kept everyone occupied the last few weeks.

#15520 4 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

So every win was on the road in the series?!

Correct.

#15565 4 years ago

The redskins aren’t winning many more games if any this season. They barely beat a bad dolphins team. It probably won’t matter if they pick 1st or 5th they’ll probably screw it up.

I just want Jeffries and ertz to score I need fantasy points.

#17168 4 years ago

As a skins fan I was rooting for the giants. But not going to lie. Ertz catching the game winner in OT won me fantasy so I’ll take that.

#17256 4 years ago
Quoted from embryonjohn:

I really hate seeing cancel culture hit this thread & the Patriots.
I figured true football fans would be the last people on earth to minimize hard work, exemplary ownership, positional skill & revolutionary coaching.
•6 Lombardi trophies completely disregarded
•Hall of Fame players and their efforts just swept under the rug
•a coach who’s steered teams to the big game 12 times.
•a squeaky clean GOAT quarterback gone-after for petty shit like fashion, hair styles & nutrition
•a team that’s gone to the Super Bowl 9 out of the past 18 years
All minimized and discounted for a quickly debunked inflation theory and spying that every other team does.
When pressed, they spit out phrases like “tuck rule,” “deflategate,” and of course the timeless classic “cheaters!”
Of course the people doing the cancelling are the usual butt hurting fans of mediocre teams with only enough luck, skill & brains to make it close, but quickly had their dreams crushed by better players & coaching.
Brady, Belichick and Robert Kraft are amassing a list of achievements that’s totally staggering.
I’m a lucky fan.
But it does feel like it’s all coming to an end and I’ll be back in general population with the rest of you creeps
Who knows, some inmate might come up to me next year and say, “whattaya in for?” and I’ll say just say, “helmet catch” and try not to draw to much attention.

Nice rant. Reminds me of the joke about a bridge builder.

#17259 4 years ago

Well I’m sure there are various iterations but the punch line is the same.

Guy is sitting in a bar and ranting that he’s the best bridge builder all around. He’s built the best bridges and everyone is familiar with his work. They all agree he has built some mighty fine bridges. However no one refers to him as a bridge builder. So finally someone asks why not. So he leans in and says, you fuck one sheep...

Quoted from Deaconblooze:

After this week it sure feels like all fans, other than Ravens fans, should be a little shaky on their confidence.

Well they could lose to the browns again.

#18032 4 years ago

Game of the day will be Giants vs Redskins. Expecting to see lots of great football. They’ll probably use this game to teach high school kids on how to not play football.

Go Team!

#18034 4 years ago
Quoted from RWH:

I take exception to that. I think the Bengals Dolphins game has exclusive rights to that distinction.

So many great matchups today I can’t keep up.

I will say though yesterday’s games turned out to be pretty damn good.

Quoted from BeaglePuss:

dirtbag66 Every sportsbook on the planet have the Browns as favorites to sign Brady. I'm guessing it has something to do with McDaniels as well.
How do you feel about having the all-time leading cheater as your next potential QB?

I’m neither a pats or browns fan but what incentive is there for Brady to sign there?

Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Oh man, that's been great. I've actually been a member of that platform (iracing) for almost its entire existence. I only rarely do circle track stuff, the road courses are my preference. The other series have also taken to iracing to hold their schedules (indy, etc), but nascar has gotten the most press by far. Once you play on iracing, any of the other simulators feel like an arcade game - they've done a great job with the physics.
I ditched my triple monitors for an oculus. It's way more immersive, but also fatiguing. I'm currently trying to find a way to utilize monitors and the rift to get the best of both worlds.[quoted image]

Nice setup. I only have a modified wheel stand with an Accuforce V2. Rest is thrustmaster gear but I have a load cell for my brake pedal. Don’t play it much at all since I don’t have a dedicated rig, but it’s a damn fun time.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Has there been discussion on what the new name could be?

Keep the name and change the logo to a potato problem solved. Just kidding of course.

I could see the name change happening sooner than later at this point. DC has already said they won’t consider building a stadium and letting the team relocate to the city unless they do. Of course Dan as come out and is adamantly against it. I’m with Levi with this one in that when people think about the Redskins they associate them with being shitty. The last time the skins were good I was in elementary school. I’ll still root for them no matter the name.

#24017 3 years ago

Man we were hoping this would sink Snyder because really no one can stand the guy as a fan of the team. I wasn’t able to read the article since I don’t subscribe to the post, but from reading reactions doesn’t sound like something that will force Snyder to sell the team.

1 week later
#24094 3 years ago
Quoted from tomdrum:

Yup. "The Washington Football Team" will just be as awful as in the last 20 years. I hope Snyder runs the team for another couple decades. The last time the time they made the playoffs was 2007. The last time they won a playoff game was 2005. The last time they won the NFC East was 1999.
The NFC East thanks you Dan for your stellar leadership.

I mean they do suck but you got a lot wrong there.

They’ve made the playoffs twice since then and won the nfc east in 2012 and 2015. Haha.

#24099 3 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I guess it really is like RG3 never happened!

2012 was a lot of fun. I was at the Skins vs Ravens game when he got hurt. Only Skins game I went to live when they actually won. Also last game I ever went too.

#24135 3 years ago

Yeah silverstrike has been out awhile. Not sure if they update them or not though.

Quoted from wolverinetuner:

An unlikely playoff run for Washington. Better make sure that big screen tv of yours is working for the Washington Super Bowl appearance, Levi!

Appearance? Don’t you mean victory?

#27337 3 years ago

I’ll be rooting for the Bills this year. Even if the Redskins, I mean Washington Football Team make it. We all know they are highly likely to be one and done. It will suck not being able to talk trash to the Bills fans at work though.

#27340 3 years ago
Quoted from Jaybird815:

Not with Haskins, better hope Smiths injury isn’t too serious.

Haha yeah I was joking. I have no delusions that they have any chance to make a legit run. Maybe they win a first round game but I doubt it.

This

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

It’s like the rams fleeced Washington on the RG3 Trade - a total disaster for Washington - and the lesson they learned was “wow Washington had a great Idea there! Let’s do the same thing...twice!”

Quoted from Pickle:

So will this be a first back 2 back Super Bowl wins by a QB for 2 different teams? Don’t think it’s been done.

And it won’t be done tonight either.

#30356 3 years ago
Quoted from RWH:

So what are the odds Tom calls it quits and goes out on top an 8 time SB winner?

He would have to win another one after tonight.

#30404 3 years ago
Quoted from Erik:

I don't mean to be hasty but I feel there's an argument for Brady in the HOF one day

At this point Brady may actually be in the HOF before he retires.

I would argue though, the guy has only won 70% of the Super Bowls he has played in. Even Eli won 100% of his.

#30406 3 years ago
Quoted from Electrocute:

So did Brad Johnson.

Don’t forget about Foles.

Obviously I’m kidding about Brady, guy is incredible.

#32271 2 years ago

Hopefully Heineke doesn’t turn into Cousins tonight and have a disaster of a game on Thursday Night Football against the Giants.

#32378 2 years ago

Thank god I auto drafted Gano. Got 22 points last night. And the Redskins, err WFT won.

With that said they still suck. Got gifted the division last year. Not sure what they’re saying nationally about them but here in DC people were acting like this team was going to contend for the Super Bowl. I believe those expectations have been tempered.

#32389 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Well losing your starting QB can do that.

Haha not like fitz was doing much better. Granted the sample size was small. Also people in DC wanted Heinecke to be the starter. Not saying everyone does of course but listening to local sports talk a lot of people were excited for this team.

#32391 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

He is a vet with plenty of years of experience they paid monies to come there vs a guy with 1 start. They obviously wanted Fitz to get them deeper on the season before anything changed
The only QB more popular than the back up QB. Is Fitz back up

Bring back Gronk. He was hilarious when he was on during his brief retirement. Granted I’m sure the awkwardness of being nervous as hell would go away but he’s got a personality.

Levi, what is the latest with the Commanders QB situation? I'm not hearing anything. Do you think they would actually go with Sam Howell next year? This seems like a Jimmy G opportunity to me.

Wouldn’t be a good fit for Jimmy G since all he does is win.

Did you seriously destroy your TV?

#60520 7 months ago
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

No, that entire post was diehard NFL fan satire. However, I did yell outload at the TV on several occasions during the game. While it may not have helped the team's performance, it made me feel a little bit better.

Haha good to know. I’m usually good about picking out the satire but I know that stuff happens. Cant say ive broken a TV but have punched a few things before. Usually ends with my hand hurting and me feeling like a dipshit for it.

Quoted from tomdrum:

Tepper is the poster child for an impatient owner. Hired Matt Rhule to a 7 year guaranteed 7 year $62M contract. Fired him 3 years later. Traded CMC away (idiot) and then hired Frank Reich to be the QB whisperer to Young and bailed on that. Should of taken Stroud as smarter people told him. This asshole told NY Magazine in 2018, “Sometimes, if someone is an asshole, like a waiter at a restaurant, I think, I could just buy this place and fire that guy,” or when he bought the Hamptons house of his former boss at Goldman Sachs for $43.5 million, tore it down completely, and then built a house twice as big on the land.
Yet he's worth $20 billion so what does he care.

Sounds like the Skins former shithead owner.

Not going to lie, but surprised it wasn’t the Commanders. Seems like a stat they would have the honor of having.

#65506 4 months ago

Really? How often are they up 14 points with 3 minutes remaining?

Haha. You’re right. I just assume all stats a team does not want to be known for being associated with that dumpster fire.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Are you fuckin kidding me?
Lose. I have a rooting interest.
I'm not THAT hung up on it though. The've had the #2 pick recently and it didn't work out. The #5 pick or whatever would be just fine.

Aren’t they essentially guaranteed the 3rd pick no matter what?

#67443 3 months ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I mean…don’t laugh…if they beat Dallas I think they could
Fall down to 6 or 7.
There’s a number of teams with 5 wins right now and wash would be one of them.
But yes, I expect them to lose, and the pats to beat the jets, which would lock in 2.
Wash loses, pats lose, it comes down to strength of
Schedule nonsense for 2/3.

That’s right they still have to lose haha. Good thing Brisset is hurt. Dodged a bullet there.
