Oh boy, Football Fan Fiction pages.

#43002 1 year ago

Jacoby Brissett is not in the ingredient list for a successful season.

I can’t remember if we talked about this last year, but what exactly did the Bengals defense do in the second half of the AFC Championship game to baffle Mahomes, Big Red, and Bieniemy? Is their defense looking set for the next few years?

#43003 1 year ago
Quoted from boscokid:

Also isn't the guy calling Garappolo soft in this article the same dude that quit on the Packers??

Shut the run down and got pressure up the middle.

Secondary coverage was impeccable too. Had a sack on mahomes late in the game when they were driving where he literally had over a minute to throw the ball.

The timely interception in overtime was key too. Oh and the stop on the 2 pt conversion at half was huge too.

The bengals made mid game adjustments better than any previous Bengals team in my lifetime last year.

A little something for everyone at Pooleys!

The Chiefs give up on the run game on their own with no prompting needed thank you very much.

Gonna be an interesting season to see who steps up for the receivers this year.

Legends!

#43012 1 year ago

For the money, obviously.

Pathetic.

Whenever non-boxers fight its always a disgrace. They don't know what they are doing and it's painful to watch. Remember "Celebrity Boxing?"

#43013 1 year ago

If Pinside disputes could be settled via boxing matches I would definitely watch

USFL game was pretty entertaining last night, didn't watch all of it just the 4th qtr.

Man I watched the first night and have since completely forgotten it exists.

Will they survive first season ?!

I heard The TV contract was picked up for next year so looks like it will.

#43021 1 year ago

Didn’t follow most of the USFL season but that championship game was entertaining.Wouldn’t be surprised to see Case Cookus,Bo Scarborough and Scooby Wright being picked up by the NFL.

#43022 1 year ago

Interesting USFL fact. The Stars have been in every championship game since inception.

2022 Birmingham Stallions 33 Philadelphia Stars ⭐️30
1985 Baltimore Stars ⭐️28 ‑ 24 Oakland Invaders
1984 Philadelphia Stars ⭐️23 ‑ 3 Arizona Wranglers
1983 Michigan Panthers 24 ‑ 22 Philadelphia Stars ⭐️

#43023 1 year ago

I watched several USFL games to scratch the itch. It wasn't good football, but it was better than NFL preseason.

Baker Mayfield to the Panthers for a 2024 5th, and are picking up the bulk of his salary. Essentially sending him to NC.... rent free!

"The Panthers will send a 2024 5th round pick in exchange for the 27-year-old veteran quarterback He will be on the final year of his rookie contract. To make the deal happen, the Browns have agreed to pay $10.5 million of Mayfield's 2022 salary ($18 million)."

Browns fans have to excited at the probable scenario of Jacoby Brissett chucking the rock around for 17 games.

The browns:

I heard the Panthers are going to get Josh Rosen and maybe bring back Jimmy Clausen too. Never enough once highly touted guys in the qb room.

Wow. Killer deal for the panthers. I guess basically a one year rent free rental to see if they want to dive in.

Browns get a 5th lol. Some great tacticians there with this whole deal.

I hate to belabor the point (not really) but if baker is worth a 5th, how does that look for a Jimmy G trade?

Not good I would say !

#43032 1 year ago

That leaves Seattle and Cleveland for Jimmy as possibilities,I hope he stays in Frisco myself. If Trey Lance falls or fails our backups are pretty rough.Good news is we dont have Wentz.

#43033 1 year ago

So the Browns will be paying the salary of the QB they're facing in week one and have another they're paying that will likely be suspended. You can't make this shit up except in Cleveland.

this is a weird article. No mention of Matt Corral but mentions someone named PJ Walker.

Now the Panthers have the #1 pick (Mayfield) and the #3 (Darnold) in the 2018 NFL draft. Interesting because since 2018 Mayfield leads the NFL in INT's at 56 and Darnold is 2nd at 52.

Fewest since 2018? Russell Wilson had 31 (Minimum of 60 games played).

Panthers should package them both for the 2018 #7 pick who has 46 of his own INTs

Why would Buffalo trade Josh Allen for two mediocre QB's?

Didn't realize Darnold is guaranteed 19 mil this season, do we just assume Baker is starting?

They both got the 5th year option. Why on earth would you give Darnold the 5th year option?

They had just traded high draft picks for the guy is most likely the reason.

#43043 1 year ago

Sam darnold sucks. I’m sure they are just gonna eat that salary, or beg someone to take him off their hands with Carolina paying much of his salary.

Probably just a sunk cost at this point.

I’ve really never seen teams so QB hungry before. They are willing to eat crazy salaries, trade draft picks like water, cut qbs they drafted a year ago etc.

Isn't he the richest of all the owners? Dude is used to spending money and getting a big return. He will keep spending until it gets sorted. I am surprised Rhule is still there. I don't think he lasts the entire season if things go south at all.

#43045 1 year ago

Should be a great NFL season. I'm really looking forward to watching the games and all of these players on new teams.

Is Cam Newton on anyone's team these days?

Camp competition for Tua, you didn't hear? Him and Tyreek are buddies now.

In Lock they trust (to secure them a good draft position).
