Quoted from TheLaw:

Located right in the middle of numbing Bengals talk, Deep dive on Jimmy G draft picks, & picks Deconblooze acting like Adams is easily replaceable.

Only thing numb is your teams playoff chances for 4 or 5 seasons.

#41502 2 years ago

I’ll believe it when I see it.

#41503 2 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Dude of COURSE I believe it. It’s the off-season. We all believe everything.
Just like you believe the Cowboys aren’t destined for another “first round playoff beef at best” season.

Oh man.. even Dak deserves some accolades.. to get the kind of money qb's get is fukkin insane! Mind blowing the amount of dead money teams pay just to not admit they were wrong.. wentz last year and now matt ryan to indy. And don't forget all the guaranteed money that rapist just got.. wonder how long his suspension will be?!

#41504 2 years ago

I'd take another division win next season! but when you playTom Brady or that guy who once dated a porn star(yes, jimmy G!) In the 2nd round. It's gonna be tough to move on. Plus, we deserve another shot after that blundered end to last season!

NFL need to spend the off-season learning tips from Cricket...replay and free agency is so much smoother

Of course, having 'Mericas tricky history sort of eliminates the idea of live bidding on players like cattle.

Things I want to be held to account on:

-The Cowboys will disappoint as usual, falling short of the pundits' lofty predictions
-Turkey Ankles will have a better season than any of the other scrubs (Teddy, Marriota, Brisset, Jimmy G, Trubisky)
-Bengals will shockingly continue to give up a lot of sacks
-Washington somehow improves on their shitty 7 win season

It's not much, but feel free to bookmark and account

Carson Wentz will be pardoned and released on Thanksgiving
Canadas team will not make the playoffs
Jimmy G goes to Disneyland and finally gets a ring he earns.
Let it be written let it be done.

Who's else still needs a starting qb besides carolina?! They said no to Baker. He might of talked himself out of a starting job next year.. please i beg, nobody ask santa for Mayfield in a Giants uniform next season and run thru the division!

#41517 2 years ago

Baker Mayfield enters the little known NFL transfer portal and returns to Oklahoma for another year. When asked why he said "The NFL is way too serious,I just want to have fun"

There's that cowboy fan confidence! Scared of Baker going to a bad team

LMAO

#41520 2 years ago

Somebody want to clear up the baker situation for me?

He's under contract for 2022 with guaranteed money, correct? So Cleveland will have to pay him if they can't trade him? So In other words, Cleveland is guaranteeing $60 million to QBs this season?

Not sure what they expect in draft compensation in a trade, but Doesn't seem like they have much leverage at all.

edit - I see through cap magic Watson's salary is $1 million in 2022

Gives them more flexibility but I still doubt they want to pay their backup $20 million this season.

Where's Dirtbag when you need him!?!

#41521 2 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

-Turkey Ankles will have a better season than any of the other scrubs ...

Its bookmarked; but I plead with you to try to use reason with the term "better."
He had a somewhat decent year for probably a 2nd year QB, but of course choked it all away with some of the worst finsishes/plays of the season.
We all all know your hog is on fire for the guy but let's try to be reasonable

#41522 2 years ago

Its almost like Cleveland has no clue what they're doing?! Oh how we pine for the Freddy Kitchen days!

#41523 2 years ago

I am starting to think Cleveland just assumes Watson will be suspended for at least the first half of the season. So they need Baker to keep them in contention until they can suit up Watson. They did after all only guarantee 1 million dollars for the upcoming season. The contract structure is no coincidence.

2022 base salary: $1.035 million, fully guaranteed.
2023 base salary: $46 million, fully guaranteed.
2024 base salary: $46 million, fully guaranteed.
2025 base salary: $46 million, fully guaranteed.
2026 base salary: $46 million, fully guaranteed.

Baker will be forced to choose being shitty to stick it to the Browns, or suck it up and play well enough so he has a job next season. Its still unclear if its he or Watson who is more hated by casual NFL fans.

Quoted from Dee-Bow:

I'll admit the thought had crossed my mind. In a competitive division it would be kind of sad, but in the NFC East it just might work ...

We all know that Tua is the most hated QB....but maybe only hated by serious NFL fans?

Naw man. That isn't hate. It's Indifference. Much different things.

Fun to mess with fins fans though!

Tua is one of the most likable people in the league. Literally I can't think of anyone that hates him; other than you 50% of the time on your wild mood swings.

Collectively "real NFL fans" are completely indiff'rent to the Dolphins

The 2022 year he's making 46m, but 45 of it is bonus. The team can spread that out over the duration of the contract as a prorated bonus. So if he does get suspended in 2022, the team is actually taking the hit for that, since only his base salary would be eligible for that penalty. It looks more like this:

There's nothing to think aboot it's pretty blatant.
You're also missing the fact that Watson knows he's going to be suspended, and this was part of the negotiations.

#41530 2 years ago

So their plan is to force Baker to play for them this season?

Man that's just cruel.

The Browns are monsters. Baker's trade value is plummeting with every QB signed or traded for...Just let him go already!

Baker can refuse to play and put them in a position where they just cut him and then some team gets him cheaper.I don’t think Watson is going to be their savior they expect.Remember when Tiger Woods favorite playthings we’re taken from him?DeShaun did not play for a full year.I think Cleveland will regret paying so much for him.

#41537 2 years ago

Why would they cut him when t5hey can just suspend & not pay him?

Watson is one of the best QBs on the league, but the Browns will screw it up somehow

#41538 2 years ago

Baker will keep the season alive until Watson can play

I think you are both right. He is a great QB, but ultimately the Browns will find a way to make him bad/fuck it up first game of the playoffs, etc.

#41540 2 years ago
Quoted from Jamesays:

Baker will keep the season alive until Watson can play

And why would he have any interest in doing that?

I think you guys underestimate his leverage. He could just sit out this season. Wouldn’t hurt him as a free agent next year and he can get healthy and cash in. Nobody would hold it against him, they are treating him like shit.

And for what? Because he was their best QB in decades? I don’t get the loathing they seem to have for him.

If he sits out the season, he doesn't get paid, and the browns retain his rights for another year.

He was a dickhead in college and he’s in a hatable city. Also the browns have an incredible all around team and he just hasn’t met expectations getting them anywhere. This team should have gone deep on the playoffs multiple years now, and yes I realize he was injured this season.

There is good reason no nfl team even wants him to visit their city. Indy took fucking Matt Ryan over him, and is wasn’t because of money. They have an assload of money to spend and didn’t even take his call.

He is a bust compared to expectations.

Which sucks, because I bought his rookie card as an investment years ago.

Safest bet of the year. Pretty disrespectful in my opinion which doesn’t mean anything, but that coach convinced his team to take a short ass QB number 1 overall on blind faith.

I think he owes a shred of loyalty to that organization, unless I’m completely out of the loop and unaware they wronged him in someway ??

I think he's upset they weren't going to extend him with a year left on his contract plus the fifth year option. But that kind of nonsense gets you into the Wentz/Elliott contracts.
