I may have spoken too soon, it’s being reported ESPN is now going after Buck to join Aikman on MNF.

Good, I watch Fox games more

I see a couple of CFL fans (chuckwart & levi) chiming in on the yegpin thread.. u guys actually plan on heading up to the event? Or just offering the organizers free suggestions!? There's a game in Edmonton on july 7th if ya stick around for it.

I wish I could make it. Maybe next year. Seems like an awesome event!

Definitely don’t care about the CFL though.

Not missing much! 9 team league and two of the teams used to share the same team name! ( how!!??) But i see my Riders cut ex bronco qb Paxton Lynch the other day.. there is some talent hiding up here.. most make their way to NFL tho.

Yeah I definitely like those stories of players either coming from the CFL and succeeding or leaving nfl, going to the CFL, and coming back to succeed.

Cris Carters son (Duron) was a deva wide out for 5+ seasons.. he's coming back next year as a defensive back! Wtf!

Can't make it. Just offering free unasked for advice (It was good advice!)

I'd go but I'm going to be traveling that week for work...just realized it as I was trying to buy tickets and actually looked at my calendar.

I did once see a CFL game at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, it was a trip.

#40810 2 years ago

Memorial Stadium was a terrible place to watch a football game. I saw Marino play there as a rookie in 1983. The place was awful for football.

Probably would have been a more entertaining game if Elway had actually played in Baltimore.

I see we have already devolved into talking about the CFL. Man... off-season came too soon.

Good news ahead though:

The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine runs from March 1 to March 7.

Off season is as depressing as winter is for me, hate it!!!!

Quoted from RWH:

I love winter, NFL playoffs and the air is finally nice outdoors.

If I had to deal with the snow up north all the time, HELL NO!

I hate summer myself, no NFL until the very end of it, and way too hot and humid here.

In the summer if I am outdoors working a lot, sometimes I sweat so much that even after 100 ounces of Gatorade, and 100 ounces of water I still have cramps from dehydration.

I used to go to Cedar Point a lot, and that place in July gets pretty hot also, but the rides and areas near the lake always had a nice breeze, it was night and day how that place was too hot or not too bad in the same day.

#40815 2 years ago

NFL is definitely the most dominant of all pro leagues- athlete wise. beasts..even the ones that can't win in sanfran and dallas and new england and ...

Cfl is fun to support.. it's a blast live! ART MANN did an episode about our home games at our old stadium!

The Philadelphia / Baltimore Stars were coached by the great Jim Mora. I always was pulling for him when he went to the NFL because of his time in Baltimore.

It was real USFL football, the type with Hershel Walker, Doug Flutie, Jim Kelly, etc.

#40820 2 years ago

Baltimore Stars won the USFL championship in first and only year in town after playing first 2 years in the league as the Philadelphia Stars. The Stars dominated that short lived league going 48 - 13 in the 3 years it existed. Think Baltimore is only city that can claim 3 football league championships. The Baltimore Lightning was our Arena team, was kinda cool when they made the super bowl years ago. Was the only arena game I’ve ever watched and damn it they lost. Would have been cool to claim a 4th not so prestigious football title fo B’more.

Quoted from Rezdog: Think Baltimore is only city that can claim 3 football league championships.

That's some disrespectful shit:

NFL Detroit Lions 1935, 1952, 1953, 1957
USFL Michigan Panthers 1983
Arena Detroit Drive 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992

By my count Baltimore is 4 football championships behind Detroit #sad!

Hi Chuckwurt. I keep thinking about the Super Bowl and COVID and how all of those folks should be sick with COVID or in the hospital by now. How did you and your family/friends make out in terms of health/wellness/illness from your weekend in California? I haven't heard anything about the Super Bowl being a super-spreader event, but I get it that they news has been taken over by Russia recently.

No one in my crew got sick. We were all double vaxxed and boosted too.

No one was abiding by the mask rule and no one checked for vaccine card upon entry. Not sure how others faired.

To be honest though, I was more worried about getting sick from the airport and flights than being at the game.

#40827 2 years ago

I think many of us have been going to large events now for a while. I've been to a few pinball shows, a few concerts. Saw Elton John last night in a packed house!

It is what it is. It's been literally 2 years, and things are "better," if not like they were before. I certainly wouldn't have "expected" to get sick going to the Super Bowl. You don't really hear the words "super spreader" much any more, because we've made a lot of progress.

I think most of us would have gone to the Super Bowl had we the opportunity!

#40828 2 years ago

Yeah especially after this last wave, seems it’s pretty well under control. I guess long term effects are yet to be determined, but not worried about it.

#40829 2 years ago

Elton ain’t worried either!!

Here he is disappearing into the back like the end of the Truman Show. What an exit!!

Very cool Chuckwurt! My thoughts were that everyone was doing fine after the Super Bowl. It's great to get a reality check on things, compared to people being afraid all of the time.

I'm looking forward to the Allentown Pinfest in May.

Gave it some brief thought and if NY Yankees fans can brag about WS Championships from before their grandfathers were born then Detroiters sure as hell can claim a 1957 NFL championship. Not my fault somebody picked an arbitrary year to start the *modern NFL*

Dear online journalistic world:

I've now clicked on 113 Jimmy G links over the last 6 weeks. You still haven't told me what team he's on. Can we have a moratorium against speculative Jimmy G trades until he's actually traded? I'm losing feeling in my clicking finger...

thanks

I don't think there is a Lemon Law with NFL QBs so you may very well be stuck with Wentz.

1 Play him, that option sucks
2 Cut him and eat salary, that option also sucks
2 Trade him - well wouldn't that be nice except whatever team takes him is gonna want Colts to throw in picks
