That diabolical genius Bill B probably leaked that a cut was coming it to stir up some final interest/action on the trade so he could get a 6th round pick for him. Again, better than nothing, but probably should have seen this coming and put him on the block in the offseason, I bet the Pats would have gotten better compensation.

This was Belichick's way of letting every team know they had to have their best offer to him today or take their chances on making a waiver claim.
3-1 Carolina has 22nd waiver priority so they must've figured they didn't have a shot on 1) nobody else offering a trade and 2) 21 teams ahead of them on waivers passing

This is the NFL...there's no tiny sacrificial teams for opening days and homecoming like in college football.
It's great - but week 4 is not the time to be discussing putting any team on a 'all time' list. Unless you are a cowboys fan.. and then that's every year.
2000 Raven gave up 20+ points only TWICE the entire season.. Buffalo has already done that in their first 4 games.. three of which were against substitute QBs. Now Buffalo doesn't have to win 12-6 like the 2000 Ravens did... but if we're elevating defenses.. that's where the bar is. Total smothering domination.
The good news for the Bills D is the opposing offenses are gonna be forced to play to score a ton of points.. so gonna see a lot more throwing and high risk play.

I thought vested veterans don't go on the waiver wire. Pretty sure they are immediately free agents if cut/waived.
