Quoted from Jaybird815:Damn, the Raiders just put their whole starting OL on the Covid list
i'm surprised it's not worse in the NFL cause you know as well as I do this isn't the MLB, they can't control these guys.

Its fun to predict, but it all comes down to injuries....Seattle and KC are one injury away from mediocracy.....its crazy the amount of injuries that have occurred this year
Yeah its true no one player is the team, but damn just one player hurt can affect the outcome of a season.
They switched the Bucs vs Raiders and the Seahawks vs Cardinals, Seattle game is now the Sunday night game
Quoted from Jaybird815:They switched the Bucs vs Raiders and the Seahawks vs Cardinals, Seattle game is now the Sunday night game
I appreciate how dynamic the NFL has been moving games around to ensure we have something to watch Sunday nights, Monday afternoons, and Tuesday evenings. Not having fans in the seats sure seems to make things easier for them.
Quoted from PtownPin:...Seattle and KC are one injury away from mediocracy....r
Hmmm....I'm trying to think of a team that isn't.
Bears?
Quoted from TheLaw:Hmmm....I'm trying to think of a team that isn't.
Bears?
Lions........They would need to add players to get to mediocrity
Quoted from TheLaw:Hmmm....I'm trying to think of a team that isn't.
Bears?
Maybe not the bears since none of their QB's will be taking them to the promise land anytime soon. Seattle and KC separate themselves since their QB's are so much better than everyone else.
Quoted from TheLaw:Anyway, this is a football thread.
5-0 Pitt & Titans go at it...I got Titans in this one although it seems to favour Pitt. They can stop the run, but suck at the pass.
Id love to see it but I think Tennessee gets boatraced. Passing defense is as bad as I can ever recall and offensive line got gimpy just in time to face the sack machine
Watching the Giants - Eagles match up...
I'm thinking, "Either team can legitimately lose this."

Quoted from mof:Watching the Giants - Eagles match up... I'm thinking, "Either team can legitimately lose this."
I will say, I didn’t really expect these Giants to be in such a dogfight for the bottom of the division this far into the season.
I keep watching the Daniel Jones trip replay over and over and laugh every time. My daughter is 2 1/2 and does that once in a while, but it's not quite as funny.

Did he trip or just get dragged down by momentum.Maybe he’s top heavy?

Bottom? They're only a win or two away from leading the division

What a shame this had been lately!
The NFC East was traditionally one of the best divisions in the league
Quoted from romulusx:Did he trip or just get dragged down by momentum.Maybe he’s top heavy?
I don't know either way, it's just funny as hell to watch.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Eagles are 2-4-1
Yeah...its funny, even google didn't care enough to update it. That is a direct screenshot from Google moments ago.
The funniest part is that most of the wins for teams in the NFC East are going to be when they play each other.
Quoted from YZRider926:The funniest part is that most of the wins for teams in the NFC East are going to be when they play each other.
That's true. The only NFC East wins so far against non-divisional teams are the Cowboys win against the Falcons (by 1 point) and the eagles win against the 49ers (by five points). The eagles also tied the Bengals.
This division is HISTORICALLY bad.

So you are saying this division sucks?

I am a lifelong Cowboys fan. These games are straight painful to watch. I think this is the worst team they have fielded since the Dave Campo era.

You are right. A life long fan as well and man it does hurt.
Quoted from bssbllr:You are right. A life long fan as well and man it does hurt.
I finally jumped ship 2 years ago and now it’s the Colts who disappoint me?
Historically bad the NFC East? Every team has won at least 1 Super Bowl. No other NFC or AFC division has done that! The Eagles won the 2018 Super Bowl, Dallas has won 5, Giants 4 and Washington 3. Giants took out the 18-0 Patriots several years ago. Meaning only Dolphins have ever gone undefeated and won a Super Bowl in same year. East has been ultra been bad this year and Eagles were mediocre until end of last season and got healthier and better to win the division at 9-7. But the teams that won their divisions in the past with losing records were not from the NFC East.
This year however the East is really terrible and might field the first division with only 6 wins to win a division title ever.
Quoted from bssbllr:You are right. A life long fan as well and man it does hurt.
Thanks to GM and owner Jerry Jones who has turned the Cowboys from champs long ago to underachievers Even with Romo, Dak, and other talented players in recent and more past seasons his management and idiocicy has now brought them to a currently terrible team. I'm fostering 5 kittens and they tackle me better during meal times then the Cowboys cover or play defense.
Quoted from WesleyCowan:Historically bad the NFC East?
I think he means that the 2020 NFC East has the worst performance through 7 games of any division in NFL history. But agreed that it's been historically strong -- for the "who cares" stats file, NFC East leads all other divisions with a collective 13 Superbowl wins. And it will bounce back again, but this year's looking less like a bounce than a flatline.

All this weaponry and still have nothing. It’s a shame.
Quoted from Jaybird815:Antonio Brown to Tampa?
I saw an article headline saying they were close to a deal but I didn't read it.
Quoted from Jaybird815:Antonio Brown to Tampa? They have a pretty solid WR core now.
What I appreciate is when team goes "all out" they really fucking mean it.
Quoted from Slugmeister:So Brady gets AB.Somehow I can't see Arians and AB not having a blowup this season.
Arians seems like a players coach. Having Brady at QB pretty much means AB stays in line.
Doubt he sees usage like his heyday but obviously Brady likes him. Seem to remember he was against Pats cutting him, which was a schism for he and Belichick
Arians was his coordinator in PIT, and knows what he is in for. Arians also referred to AB as a diva this year, so I don't anticipate any surprises.
My prediction- AB makes it through the whole season without any real issues.
I was actually surprised TB signed him, but TBs receivers aren't healthy, and they need to be able to throw down field to keep the run game going.
Quoted from ralphwiggum:Arians was his coordinator in PIT, and knows what he is in for. ....
Maybe only his rookie year? Def before the CTE and millions.
Anyway there's no mystery here. Brady knows he can play, needs his TB12 legacy intact, team is all in for winning, so done deal.
Going for broke really means it. Has there ever been a year with 2 double city Champs? Lakers/dodgers & Lightning/Bucs?

I think I saw where there were a couple of doubles, but if the rays and bucs pull it off, it would be the first trifecta.

Dodgers and Lakers in 88. And hopefully 2020.
Quoted from vicjw66:Dodgers and Lakers in 88. And hopefully 2020.
I cant let the fact slide that the Dodgers have a 107m payroll vs the Rays 28m. Baseball is an absolute joke in regard to balance. Hope to see the Dodgers get their ass handed to them.
This said, no offense to you personally and have a great day . MLB salary structure just really triggers me. Almost zero chance for teams in small markets. Must be hard being GM of a team with virtually NO BUDGET.
Saints welcome Teddy Bridgewater back to the Superdome. Bittersweet but I guess we'll just have to whup his ass!
Quoted from ralphwiggum:My prediction- AB makes it through the whole season without any real issues.
I’ll take the under. The dude is completely mental.
Quoted from chuckwurt:I’ll take the under. The dude is completely mental.
I don't disagree... I just think he has some legal bills he needs to pay, and no income to pay them.
The only thing that gives me hope is that Belichek and Brady loved him, and he only got cut from the Pats for previous incidents and not any incidents while with the Pats...

What the rays have done with their payroll is incredible. But it you are basically taking the side of a cheap ass billionaire owner over his employees and hoping his billionaire cheap ass is rewarded over an owner who is willing to share the wealth with his employees, who are making him rich and doing the heavy lifting, then all I can say is, you have drunk the koolaid, and all their propaganda has bought them one more sucker.

It isn’t that deep. I’m simply saying I have zero respect for a team beating another team when they can afford to buy an all star team.
Neither billionaire is losing money, and the Dodgers being in a big market affords them the opportunity to do so. It has NOTHING to do with the charitable nature of one man over another.
Quoted from Erik:Are they going to let him wear that magical helmet that caused such a furor in Oakland?
Helmet never mattered. He wanted out of that organization. He wanted to go play in New England with Tom but the Steelers wouldn't trade him there.
Quoted from chuckwurt:The way the Dodgers lost last night was amazing. Haha
It was incredible that so many things would occur at once to give them the win.
