Don't be crapping on the browns.. sorry OBJ... Couldn't resist

#24502 3 years ago
Quoted from boscokid:

Found the home field advantage numbers from 2008-2018
Top Ten:
Patriots
Ravens
Packers
Steelers
Saints
Seahawks
Vikings
Falcons
Cardinals
Broncos
Bottom five:
Browns
Buccaneers
Jaguars
Rams
Raiders

Home is just a mindset.

Home is where you make it.

#24503 3 years ago
Quoted from RWH:

Wow kinda surprised the Browns are in the bottom, dog pound gets pretty rowdy!

To be fair the real Dawg Pound was Cleveland Stadium and it closed after 1995 season. Those fans were much closer to the field.

#24504 3 years ago

MLB provided every team with recorded fan noise. Each team can pretty much do what they want with it.

What if the NFL did the same and the home team can play it as loud as they want when the opponents have the ball.

I'm thinking the NFL has already thought of what teams may be doing and have made decisions on what will be allowed and what won't.

#24505 3 years ago

If they choose to allow fans, how do they decide which 15000 people get to watch live? The 'pumped in' noise seems to help add atmosphere when watching NHL playoffs.. but the digital fan pics in the nba are just weird! Don't like seeing that. The cut outs in MLB are dumb. Except Bernie! He made me laugh!

Chiefs are going to have 16000 fans Thursday night in attendance. Tickets were offered to season ticket holders in order of tenure apparently

#24507 3 years ago
Quoted from Dee-Bow:

Cincinnati is going to offer seats to all season ticket holders first and then the general public.

Looks about right. How did they determine that? Win pct or point differential at home vs away? I'm a little surprised with the Raiders in the bottom 5.

#24509 3 years ago
Quoted from RWH:

Ten times louder and playing under those indoor lighting systems effects receiver play. I've heard this said about domes and dome lights from both MLB and NFL players alike.

So how does the home team do better with these lights? I don’t get it. They are just more used to it? First I’ve heard of that.

What is that based on? Home winning percentage?

Ya, I’ve read that priority goes to long time season ticket holders...at 300-400 a seat! This ‘Covid’ bs has got to go, I wanna go to fn arrowhead 1 day!

Haven't the Cincinnati season ticket holders suffered enough.

#24513 3 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

correct - naturally this list is 2 years old so there may be some slight changes.

#24514 3 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

They say that in a normal open stadium there are banks of lights outside of the playfield but in most dome stadiums the lights are more overhead and it's easy to lose the ball in them.

#24515 3 years ago

Theres no doubt that under normal circumstances home field advantage means something. Under these new conditions the only thing that really impacts the game is the weather and game time (i.e. west coast team playing at 10:00 am versus 1:00 PM)....I don't think turf means much because most teams have natural and turf practice facilities...eliminating most of the fans will have an impact

#24516 3 years ago

I think at least some of the 'dome' advantage had something to do with the crown (or lack-thereof in the case of a dome) on the field. I think most outdoor fields have improved drainage and were able to flatten that crown, making them flatter. There may have also been something to the grass, but outdoor fields are actually using a hybrid in most cases, and the artificial stuff have come a long way, again closing that gap.

Maybe there was something to domes being louder, but stadium designs have been altered to bring a lot of the noise back down to the field (SEA being the biggest example of this). I think Arrowhead and CenturyLink are the loudest stadiums, but maybe all else constant domes would be louder, I don't know.

#24517 3 years ago

Washington has had a home disadvantage the last few years, with visiting fans often outnumbering home fans and a general feeling of misery and depression.

Having an empty stadium will - no doubt - be an improvement this season.

#24518 3 years ago
Quoted from RWH:

They say that in a normal open stadium there are banks of lights outside of the playfield but in most dome stadiums the lights are more overhead and it's easy to lose the ball in them.

But how is the home team immune to this? Aren’t both teams equally disadvantaged by it?

#24519 3 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Sort of.... The home team gets far more exposure to make adjustments. Think of it as visiting a friend that has Pinstadiums on his machine....

Quoted from chuckwurt:

I assume they get use to it or learn how to screen it out like in MLB.

#24521 3 years ago

The bucs are going all out! Lol

Today should be considered a national holiday, I’m leaving work early!

I usually opt to go in late the following day.

I’ll do that tomorrow and Monday! Being in the golf business, things are finally starting to slow down. It’s been our busiest year ever.

Yeah me too, those doritos hangovers are killer!

#24526 3 years ago

Always take opening Monday off.

#24527 3 years ago

Game Day!!! Might be a little weird with the amount of fans in the stadium, but we have football! Go Chiefs!

#24528 3 years ago

They’re calling tonight’s game in Chicago the Son of a Mitch! Bowl

#24529 3 years ago

What's the over/under on when Mitch gets pulled Sunday?

Mid third quarter?

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

That would be Sunday, but he’ll make it through that game, not surprisingly his best games come against the Lions. He’s owned them!!

#24531 3 years ago

Why the fuck are the Lions favored?
Mitch ain't getting pulled for a month.

Just like I thought...a bunch of political BS. And if this is how they are going to practice safety measures, the season will be over in two weeks.

Annnnnd RWH is out.

Wow it's like Nostradamaus is with us!

#24539 3 years ago

Well my football season is over, fuck these pussy ass MF's. If they cant come out and stand for the National Anthem then I wont be watching. Too much race bullshit also for me. Have fun unpatriotic liberals watching these assholes!

Wow AJ Green looks like shit.

#24541 3 years ago

I gotta laugh... it goes
- National anthem
- Don't fall in looo-oove... (she's a beaut-eh!)
- moment of unity

We must fit The Tubes in there.

He’s been away for a while. Haha. He’s definitely getting too old for this shit.

#24545 3 years ago

Good luck keeping the fans in the nosebleeds in their respective seats.

Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Especially after 10 beer.

#24547 3 years ago

I’m not sure this is a fair gauge of other games. They allowed almost 17,000 fans in. Many stadiums aren’t allowing any. Will be a whole different atmosphere. And weird.

#24548 3 years ago

Probably the first game of the season with no preseason is doing a little more than the "crowd noise" guys.
jesus.

#24549 3 years ago

What's that crazy kc punter?

#24550 3 years ago

and further, who knew they had one?
