You better hope your golden boy Joe Burrow never gets hurt...
"Get up, you damn PUSSY!"
- Who-Dey

I hope that he doesn't but football is a rough sport and the chances are good that he will at some point in his career. It's part of the game.

Never thought I’d say it but go Vikings! After we push aside the Seagulls like a stiff arm block, it’ll be Vikings-Packers at Lambeau for the nfc championship! I can dream can’t I?

A bit ahead of the game but I am interested why you think Green Bay matches up well against the Niners after the game earlier this year?
That was one of the most dominate performances I have seen. Why do you think the result will be different? I am not hating, obviously you follow Green Bay way closer than I do and why were they dominated in that game but won’t be next time?

Didn't you do this to me before the weekend too? There was and is no scenario next week where we would be playing the niners.

#19256 4 years ago

If the Seahawks couldn’t run up the score significantly with a seriously depleted Eagles roster, Ertz and Sanders playing injured, Wentz out after one quarter and McCown in for the rest of the game...I don’t see them going to much further.

#19257 4 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

Well its guys like you that want to turn football into a pussy sport that's ruining the game. Football is a rough sport so when a guy gets hammered he shouldn't be crying about it. That hit right there was nothing compared to hits quarterbacks took 15 times a game back in the old days when football was real.

I'm confused by your use of the word pussy here, you must not have sex with women ever if you think it means wimpy or weak.

Well, their top 3 running backs were out and Clowney and Diggs were playing injured, that severely limited their game plan. They had to switch from being a running team to a passing team. But, over the past two games, the 4th back Homer has been doing well and Lynch is showing he still has something left in the tank. I still think they are a long shot to win the Superbowl, but I think Green Bay and SF are totally teams they can beat and they can piece back together a running game. We will see.

I'm confused by your theory lol. Let's see if this helps you. They have pussified the NFL with all of the rule changes that they have made in a attempt to make the game safer....meaning it is not nearly as rough of a sport as it used to be.

I can still watch hockey thankfully and get to see big hits. They dont give a shit in hockey, if you get hurt then you just get hurt. Hockey is much more physical than NFL football is now. I never thought that I would ever be able to say that.

Quoted from dirtbag66:

We're allowed to have "second" favorite teams? What are we, 12 years old?!?

Quoted from dirtbag66:

I just don't get it. Figured once we became adults we pretty much narrowed it down to one favorite team. Having multiple favorite teams seems like people just need that safety net to feel better about themselves.

Quoted from dirtbag66:

Uhhh, got room for a third favorite team?

Dang it! Saints are already knocked out of the play-offs.
.
Guess I'm gonna pull for some of my other favorite teams to win and advance to the Super Bowl.
2nd favorite NFC team: {in a low slow voice} ...The Green Bay Packers
Favorite AFC team: The Kansas City Chiefs
.
I'll be pulling for Titans to beat the Ravens, and for the Vikings to beat the 49ers.
The Titans and Vikings likely won't win, but this is the play-offs, so bring it on.

#19262 4 years ago

Forgive me if any of this has been said in this thread before since I haven’t read much of it lately, but I saw a stat that said when bird teams host other bird team in the playoffs, the home teams were 10 -0 until the Seahawks beat the Eagles.

Also, that the NFL has 5 cat teams. The Detroit Lions, The Carolina Panthers, The Cincinnati Bengals, The Jacksonville Jaguars and The New England Cheetahs.

Derrick Henry, big game cat hunter.

I'd sign up for this. Niners at the ravens was one of the best games all year even with Kittle out for the Niners. They were also the first defense all season to beat up on Jackson. After the Niners game, Jackson stopped running as much.

Yet you think a little hands stuff between defender and receiver is interference? Saints defender never turned around while holding Rudolphs hands, and Rudolph just broke free for the TD.

You cant push the defender away like that. It was clearly pass interference and i don't blame the Saints fans for being pissed off. Thats the 2nd year in a row that they got screwed by the refs in the playoffs.

#19273 4 years ago

I'm not 100% sure it was PI due to the amount of grabbing by both receiver and defender. I think most feel it was cause they really only show the very end of the hand fighting when the receiver is separating. Watch closely and you'll see just before the release and catch both are grabbing and holding the other.

#19274 4 years ago

PokerJake you are arguing with someone who thinks Munsters is an All-Time classic. "Gotta keep stackin up dem jackpots then get that 6X going, hoo boy what a thrill - WhoDey." You'll have a more rewarding time trying to teach calculus to a pigeon.

Somehow Rudolph had to free his hand to make the catch. It'd be a new strategy for defenses if that was called OPI. Just hold their hands until they need to break free to make the catch.

dirtbag66 Every sportsbook on the planet have the Browns as favorites to sign Brady. I'm guessing it has something to do with McDaniels as well.

How do you feel about having the all-time leading cheater as your next potential QB?

I’m neither a pats or browns fan but what incentive is there for Brady to sign there?

I can't imagine a scenario where Gisele agrees to live in Cleveland, but Vegas must know something I don't. Like Ron said, he's tight with OBJ. With Kitchens gone, I would assume they idea would be to bring in both Brady and McDaniels.

I'm certain he'll end up in San Diego, but it would be nice to see Dirtbags head explode with the signing.

Now, how about some Wild Card picks? I like:
- Bills
- Titans
- Saints
- Seahawks

2/2 so far, but a better record than the Giants or Broncos the last few seasons so I’ll keep playing. This week’s picks:

Vikings
Packers
Ravens
Chiefs

(I don’t have great faith in the Vikings but there’s got to be an upset in one of these games, so why not?)

Vikings @ Packers to decide the NFC would be pretty epic, and probably give me an ulcer.

Probably my bad, I may be confusing my niners fans.

Anyway, I was talking about this coming week. I don't think the Packers matchup well against the niners for the most part. We do have the benefit of having played them during the regular season, which would at least give the coaches a chance to prepare better for the talent of certain players they may not have given enough respect to the first time around (bosa, for example). We have one of the better blocking TEs in the league, so it would seem like a good idea to give our OL some help with some big sets.

Raven Greene is back from the IR to start the playoffs. I don't expect anyone to know who that is, but he's a hybrid LB/Safety, and may be a decent way to account for a TE like Kittle. The edge definitely goes to Kittle, who's probably the best TE in football right now, but it would at least hopefully mitigate some of that damage.

The offense would need to get started early. I think if you can force SF to play from behind a opportunistic GB defense may be able to take advantage of what I believe to be an overachieving Jimmy G.

Anyway you slice it, the Packers would be underdogs should that matchup take place, and I'm pretty alright with that.

And breaking... Mike McCarthy to be the next Dallas HC.

I would have liked to be able to root for MM at his next stop, but I just can't do it in Dallas.

#19285 4 years ago

No love fr the hawks? You'll be singing a different tune sunday nite

#19286 4 years ago

My prediction is if the Niners D gets healthy (return of 3 starters) and Dee Ford actually plays to his potential then its lights out for everyone (including everyone in the AFC)....if not (which is more likely since Ford is always hurt) then all the Niners games will come down to the end. They've been battle tested the last 8 games of the season so I think their ready for play off football. They lost 3 games on the last play of the game, and could have won all of them. Missed short field goal in OT against Seattle (Gould was out hurt), multiple fumbles in the red zone against Baltimore, and completing blowing the Falcons game

They seem like the obvious upset pick on paper, but they just didn’t look very impressive against Philly.

I.

Dream come true for me as a Skins fan.

The exact hire Dan Snyder would have made 10 years ago. An expensive game-passed-him-by dude who won a Super Bowl because he was lucky to come up at the same time as Aaron Rogers in his prime. McCarthy will win nothing in Dallas and be on the hot seat within three years. His relationship with Jones is going to be a disaster as well, as I'm sure Jerry promised him far more power than he's every going to be willing to give up.

Same here. As a Vikings fan this is a great hire for Dallas.

The Dallas McCarthy hire is Giants-approved as well.

A great year for the division when three of four teams in the NFC East fire their coaches.

The Seahawks just know how to win...Carrol is a great coach, and Wilson is clutch....on paper many teams are much better, but the seahawks know how to win close games.

I’d be curious to see if Wilson gets hit out by a helmet to helmet shot, then see what Geno Smith can do.

That could very well be, but I think a change of scenery and a year to reset might do him well. I'll go on record saying he will be more successful than Garrett.

#19294 4 years ago

The Bills - attempt the 57 yard FG. If he gets it, great! If not, oh well, try again. Instead 38 yards lost in two plays.
Eagles - kick the stupid FG instead of focusing on the TD + 2 pts so early. The defense was doing well & there was plenty of time. If they made that FG, then made another instead of the 2nd TD attempt & managed the clock better, a FG on the 3rd TD attempt would have won the game.

The problem was that Wentz was a runner and didnt give himself up. I didn't think the play was dirty at all (it was borderline). If Wentz game himself up we would be having a different discussion.

Agreed. It was not a dirty hit, Clowney does not play that way. Hawks out gained the eagles 98 to 28 yards with Wentz playing. Imagine how good sea would be with Carson, penny and procise. Wilson will rise up again, and I expect lynch to get a more expanded role against the packers.
