Quoted from str8cash:What, truth hurts? Cheapest organization in the nfl. Only team not to have a practice facility. Have a hard time luring free agents because no one wants to play for a cheapass owner like Brown. Besides the recent run with Dalton and the one year with Palmer when he had his knee blown out they're not even relevant the past 2 decades. Go Steelers! Poke, poke...
Have you watched the NFL in the past 5 years? The Bengals are one of the NFL's elite teams. Yeah they suck in the playoffs, but they have one of the best teams in the NFL no doubt.
Free agents?? This is something that the bengals do better than every other team in the NFL. They draft, retain, reward all their stars. Name one big free agent pick up in the history of the NFL that proved to be worth the money, if not a complete and utter disaster. Oh and if all these players didn't want to play for the bengals, why are the bengals retaining all these great players?
Is mike brown a cheap ass? Sure. But what he is for sure is a fantastic businessman. Also, once he gave the reigns of the organization to the people around him that know what they are doing, this organization took HUGE leaps forward.
Name me an organization that has been relevant for the past 20 years. It's simply not possible. Have the steelers, Patriots, and other organizations been more successful? Absolutely. But right now, the Bengals are one of the best run, most successful organizations in the NFL.
They will never get out of the stigma of the 90s and early 2000s, and that's fine. I'll keep watching this great team play and enjoy every minute of it while it lasts.
