Lions making the super bowl when is it going to be held in Detroit again maybe they can get tickets

I've been to a SB in Detroit

Lions will never go as long as the Ford family owns them. They are not interested in being #1, same with the car company. They only care about making money by filling the seats and dealerships.

It is, good quality seats.

Quoted from RobT:

Nope. Season would be forgotten about almost immediately after the game.

Not for me. The seasons that ended in disappointment stick with me just as much. And I can instantly recall the ups and downs.

I miss Peyton with the Colts. Actually not just him but that time frame. Every Sunday was something to look forward to and afterwards was discussed till the next Sunday. And it seemed like every person in the state was interested in the team. It's amazing how they turned a basketball state into die hard Colts fans.

Savor the moment Packers, Patriots, Steelers, Falcons fans. These times won't last forever.

#8507 3 years ago

Less than 1/4" of rain forecast for the Patriots - Steelers game, temps around low 40's, but a bit windy/gusty.
Thus, weather should not be a big factor. Could have been much worse for mid/late January.

Two experienced QB's, both playing pretty well. With the O/U at 50.5 points. I'd say, take the over.
Pats are favored by 6 points.

For the Atlanta Falcons - Packers game, Atl is favored by 5 points, and the O/U is at 60 to 60.5 points.
I'm pulling for the Packers to win.
It would be hard for me to take the over on this game. Seems safer to bet the under on this game.

I would think so too.

But there are arguments to be made for the over. Cowboys scored 31 points against the Packers. The Falcons have an even better offense than the Cowboys.

Packers scored 34 points against the Cowboys. The Falcons defense isn't as "good" as the Cowboys (Cowboys were ranked #14 in defense, Falcons are 25th). Packers/Cowboys game was over the 60.5 points.

Packers averaged 27 points per game during the regular season (and that includes when they were playing like crap). Falcons average 34 points per game in regular season. So if each team got to their average, it would be 61 points.

Makes you wonder how they came up with the over/under huh?

#8509 3 years ago

It would be hard for me not to take the over on that game.

I've always thought that the player incentive pay for playoffs were a little odd. I don't know the exact amount, but it was something like 20k for each player to advance in the playoffs. That's not nothing, but compared to salaries for many players, it's probably not goin got do a lot to move the needle.

There was a recent retiree from the NFL on ESPN radio a few months ago. He estimated that about 70% of the players only cared about their paycheck and were mostly indifferent when it came to team performance. I think that's high, and just one players opinion, but it does make you wonder how many players are just as happy to go home instead of spending another few weeks practicing for a negligible amount of income.

Hey they were big bucks when they came up for the numbers in SB 1

Depends how many players have PO/SB goals in their contract? Don;t know if that;s common, and maybe not for lesser contracts.

Wonder if that 70% includes all the dudes in street clothes that just slap players hands after plays aren't doing anything?

#8512 3 years ago

Well it's no surprise that most players only care about indivual performance. Each player's job is dependent on their individual performance and every position is so competitive. I'd say every team has less than a handful of players that are solid locks at their position through good times and bad.

So I'm playing blackjack in a small casino in North Battleford, Saskatchewan this afternoon and I'm wearing a Brady jersey and Pats hat. This older couple (at least mid 70s) walk by and I hear "Fuck those bastard Patriots, Go Steelers" and they just kept walking! His wife didn't even react. I busted a gut . The dealer even cracked up. Steelers fans are everywhere.

I would also say Pats are everywhere.

Funny story.

I wear my Brady jersey to annoy my Raider loving wife. I'm not even a pats fan but it is fun

We're watching PTI yesterday about the Raiders leaving and she says "now who am i going to root for? It just won't I be the same without the black hole and the fans"
I told her she can come across the bay and be 49ers fan like me.
She told me to go fuck myself!
Love you too babe.

Is this just a Canada thing or what? This is the weirdest thing I've ever heard.

That guy wasn't a Steelers fan. We are too classy to say something like that. Guy is probably just anti-patriots and would have said the same thing ending in "go Chiefs" if Steelers didn't win

The ONLY thing that has been or will ever be considered classy about Pitt is their late owner, may he rest in peace. The rest including the coach are asswipes and or rapist.

Which players in today's AFC and NFC Championship games will have great games and help take their team to the Super Bowl?

Who will deliver some epic fails and fumble away the football?

I hope we get to see a pick-six today.
And a successful fake punt would be cool.

#8530 2 years ago

Players that will shine:

Blounte
Jones
Adams
Ryan
Rodgers

Players that will fumble (figuratively and literally):
Bell
Brown
Rothlesberger

I'm biased haha

#8531 2 years ago

All right, all right, all right.
4 hours till kickoff!
Filled the fridge with beers and currently rolling some lefthanded cigarettes.
Enjoy the games today.

#8532 2 years ago

Who I want to win: Steelers and Falcons.

Who I think will win: Patriots and Packers.

Every team I was pulling for last weekend lost so I'm hoping for better results today

#8535 2 years ago

Green Bay looks terrible... Or the Falcons are just a lot better then everybody thought.

#8536 2 years ago

Zero points in first half for Packers didn't see that coming

#8537 2 years ago

Flank must be rolling in his grave

#8538 2 years ago

Good old fashioned ass kicking right here.

#8539 2 years ago

What was the over on this game? 62?

Maybe the falcons can make it there on their own...
Would be nice if the packers showed up tomake this interesting some how.

You called it right TheLaw. I thought defenses of both sides would keep the scores a bit lower.

#8547 2 years ago

Poor bastards.

Would've been a hoot to watch the game with them, though.
