Everyone in my family loves this show.
Been watching since the beginning and this season is the best one yet.
Hooked is an understatement.
We don't call the show Oak Island though, we refer to it as "Digging Holes"
My wife will come home and yell "It's Digging Holes night" 
And yes, none of us can stand the announcer but we make a game out of who can guess what he is going to repeat. Lol

While yes the story was cool.
It was another filler episode. 
Really nothing happened.
The Cason went down a whole 10 feet.
We found a tiny pottery chip.
We learned the island may have had a lookout post.
Also that so far only one word or phrase on the translated map was wrong.

Agree. Just jump in. I think this season opener had a two hour recap episode that would catch you up fast enough.

I always think the exact same thing.
Basically it was another fluff episode.
1. They found a keyhole cover in the junk area of the island with metal detector.
2. They think the big Cason lost its teeth on a big metal plate.
3. They sent a camera down to look but it filled with water again quickly.
4. Next week a diver is going down to feel around and the metal doctor guy does strike a bit of real treasure.
I think that is about it.
Well. After sifting through 2 hours of crap my DVR downloaded on the show, I finally found the season Finale.
And after all my troubles and finally getting to watch I am rewarded with some bits of granite and the decision to close up shop for the year.
What a horrible season ending.
Glad the show will go on, and yes I will still watch. But always on the DVR and a finger on the 30 second skip button.
So excited that this is back on.
Even though we all know what we are going see, it is like a drug now.
We were also pleased with the opening episode.
Moved along at a good pace and much progress was made.
Hopefully there won’t be as many filler episodes with so called “experts” telling us about the Knights Templar’s history and what not.
Just dig the damn holes and find stuff.

100% agree.
The last episode sucked.
Took them an entire hour just to tell us there was manganese in the iron, so the weapon was likely a Roman Javelin.
Which is super cool but did not need it's own hour show.

Stupid Dish Network had the name of the show wrong in the guide.
It was listed as "The curse of Oak Island Digging Deeper".
I only set my DVR to record "The Curse of Oak Island" new episodes, so I looked ahead and saw it was not going to record anything and manually changed it.
Had to call my brother and have him do the same thing.
Very frustrating.

These people earn such an easy paycheck. I know that they can't all be digging and stuff like that or doing research, but sometimes when I see them onscreen it makes me laugh, because they are not needed at all, and add nothing to the show. LOL. I can picture things at the Troutman household after a long day at work.
Wife "Paul how was your day? It must have been long. You look tired"
Paul "Well to be honest, I sat my ass down at a table. Yeah it was long."
Wife "I'm sorry honey. Tomorrow is another day on Oak Island, maybe things will go better."
Paul "I hope so. Next week they have me sitting at a table. Not the one in the pub mind you, but in the war room. On my ass."
Wife "You poor dear. We do need the money though."
Paul "Not to mention that Barkhouse guy did not do a fucking thing all day but nod in agreement! Meanwhile I am sitting on my ass!"
Wife "Now Paul, while I can clearly understand your frustration, at least you do not have to do that Henskee guy's job. He has to walk with someone who is not completely useless."
Paul "I know, it just sucks. Rick and Craig are always up to their asses in muck, so I don't really have a problem with them, but don't even get me started on that archaeologist. And when is Begley going to change that damn shirt? And then, you won't believe this shit, they stick me in the god damn car with the Fornetti kid! The silence kills me! I need to concentrate when I sit on my ass! And then I am expected to look out the window like a dog! A dog I tell you! There is no justice. Usually we are going to a museum or someone's house, or a lab. We are not going to the vet's office for Pete's sake. I swear this job is going to be the death of me.""
Wife "This is a small consolation, my big strong hard working man, but at least that will make the death toll seven."
Paul "I need a Drink. I will be at the pub. On my ass."

The island is truly cursed.
But this past episode was one of the best so far.
Thanks. I figured it was probably one of the other two shows with similar names that are never worth watching.
Same thing happens with Josh Gates Expedition Unknown.
Hard to find the real show with so many spin offs and crap where they add 10 seconds of new footage and call it a new show. Arrrgh.
