Actually, most of the pinball ads from the early solid-state era until well into the 90s that ran in Play Meter and RePlay *were* real flyers bound in. The exceptions would be flyers that are more than a 2-sided single sheet. Since he was cutting up the magazine anyway, he could have just broken the binding and pulled out the intact page. Then it would be a flyer with a line of glue down the edge.
