Curious what the original retail prices were on specific titles from the late 80's and 90's games that are now priced through the roof. Anyone have examples of what they paid for their game new or know what it cost from the factory?

Just did a quick google search for MM, wikipedia says that NIB had an appoximate cost of $3000. I'd think there would be a price list somewhere with this information.

Roughly a little over $3K NIB. You could pick up most, in used condition, a year or two later from auctions for about $1K. Sigh! Those were the days!

WMS buyouts also sold games like CV, NGG and others for $2K NIB.

I saw a NIB MM buy back at the Knoxville auction in '97. The operator only wanted $3500. Everybody, including myself, didn't want it because nobody didn't really know much about it.

Late 1970's solid state Gottliebs about $1800. High Speed around $2200, Black Knight $2400, Medieval Madness $3600.

Of course considering the amount of pins made in your time frame, precious few have gone through the roof.

did they sell them retail or are those prices what coin operators paid (possibly at a discount for bulk)? either way, more reason to build that damn time machine.

Retail for collectors and small business operators. Distributors and *big time operators* got them much cheaper.
