Orbitor 1 Stern Electronics, 1982

Hi all,
My Orbitor 1 has had garbled speech since I owed it (5years ago). A year or two ago I replaced all caps on sound and speech boards, with no change. I just recently got new sound/speech EPROMs. Again no change.
Anyone have ideas on what to check next?

just a guess, but is there a volume control on that board, or near it? try runnin it up/down a few times...maybe???

Thanks for the reply, however there are no pots/controls on the board. I have tried increasing/decreasing volume inside coin door, with no luck.
