2 years and 3 months? That is nuts. He should not have taken possession of the game until he was close to starting it. I have had full blown bally restores done for way less with clear coated playfield. $500 for board work? You can buy all new boards for $500.

I would add niftyled in your title also. Most folks around here know that name over orange county pinball.

Quoted from frolic:

There was probably a way to meet in the middle somewhere, with a rational phone call and explanation of what the charges were and attempt to work something out. And if there was a disagreement about paying for work that was never asked for, then it's on the business to eat it for their bad judgement. End of.

Yea, seems like the guy wants to keep the game. He is not even trying. His $5k price tag assures he will keep it.

Quoted from Buzz:

Wouldn't a company buy them directly from the manufacturer and not from a small time distributor?

I think stern uses cointaker

Quoted from bpa:

1,850 seems a bit high for paint and a shop job.

yep

Sticky and Nifty: There has to be a solution here and for the sake of your business (nifty) I would work this out asap.

There is not $4K+ worth of work here and just giving the guy $800 for his game is seriously shady business. Taking 2.5 years to do the work and almost doubling the quote is insane as well. Can you 2 not agree to a mutual amount somewhere between $2500 and $3000?

Quoted from NiftyLED:

This all added up, slowly over time
Do you want to do this? Yes, Do you want to do this? yes - over the 3 or whatever many years ive had this game...

this is part of the problem. A almost 3 year restore?

Quoted from Sticky:

Shouldn't you apologize for all the false assertions you made about me pages back?

I am actually on your side, but I think at this point apologies are out the door. Lets get this thing resolved.

Meet in the middle, Nifty wants $3000 and you want to pay $2550. $2775 cash and call it a day.

Quoted from NiftyLED:

stalemate it is... I'm fine with going to small claims if needed

is this really worth your business? I hope you have another job besides pinball.

Quoted from jgentry:

This is terrible advice and a great way to get shot. Backing people into a corner can have scary consequences.

It really is terrible advice, but just think about how awesome it would be to show up with 10 gorillas and pound the guy out and take the game. Like something out of a movie.

Quoted from GhostThruster:

You are just rubbing salt in the wound at this point. Reflects poorly on you.

In all fairness, he is getting screwed pretty good. If I saw my game for sale I would have drove over to see him.

#405 6 years ago

Good grief. I will throw $50 towards the $450 to help offset the difference and let's put this to bed. Merry Christmas! Who is in?

Quoted from NiftyLED:

You've got my number, text or call when youve got 3k in your hand and we can meet up. I came down $1200, you can come up $500.
I'm fine with letting a judge decide this if thats the route you want to go.

He just drove his business and name right off a cliff.

I think sticky will come out good in court. The judge will see how long he kept the game (3 years almost) and side with sticky. Plus sticky has way more documentation and Daniel trying to sell the game looks super shady.

Quoted from Fezmid:

I must be the only one who thought it was kinda fun going to small claims court....

sick bastard. LOL

#551 6 years ago
Quoted from Sticky:

Oh look what I just received. Anything suspicious about the time/date? An invoice AFTER he tried to put my game up for sale for not paying an invoice?
You can't make this stuff up at this point.

Oh nice, just keeps getting better. He is going to look like a real scumbag in court.

#555 6 years ago
Quoted from Fezmid:

That's literally what a coworker of mine told me just yesterday. And then I told him the whole story of what happened and he laughed and said I was still a sick bastard, but in this case, he understood why I thought it was fun. LOL

I know your type. My dad is that way, he loves that type of stuff.

For all transparency we will document the pickup with photographs.
Thank you

smart move.

Buzz, you are awesome. Wish you was closer to Nashville. Send Buzz a check for what the game would have cost.
