My own opinion is its nearly impossible to get an even dollar for dollar trade, given the differences on condition, real world pin price nuances, etc. Trading with a friend can
complicate things as you'll see the fruits of your trade well into the future.
I see it this way. If you are truly ready to give up one of your prized pins.......and truly enjoy the pin (s) you will be receiving, go forward and be happy.
