So I found one of these for sale near me. I love the Simpsons but I remember this game being terribble in the arcade. What are everyone else's opinions on gameplay and depth?
I figure it is worth $800-$1,200. Opinions there too please?
Also saw on Craigslist seems to be in pretty good shape just not a very deep game would make a good addition to a Simpson collection IMO !!!
I tried to email him for playfield pictures and to ask if he would take $800. I don't feel like calling from work. Maybe at lunch.
I also wonder if I should just hang onto my money for a DMD game. I am not a big fan of the pre DMD interface.
It seems like your stuck on the DMD issue.. So I would say pass.
If your a Simpsons fan this is a nice alt to the stern game.. Cheaper.
Otherwise for 800 on the east coast it's a easy buy, over here 1200 is going rate for it. But if you holding out for a pin and saving your money for something else.... And you own tspp... I would keep saving personally ..or get some playtime on it to decide.
It is 2.5 hrs north of me. Playing it for awhile is a great idea but I have the problem of not wanting to drive 5 hours to not buy something.
Haha. Yeah. I am on break now and not calling. I have learned that I the price is fair for the machine (in this case it is) that it will sell in ATL in a few hours.
So even if I wanted it at $1,000 I probably would be too late as it would be 7pm before I got there.
I have gone back and forth if I should buy a de simpsons myself. On the plus side I'm a huge fan of the show which I watched all the time (including the daily reruns) from 1990 through 2003 or 2004. I like the art on the game it captures those early seasons. Plus I have very nice memories of my friends and I playing the game when it first came out at the local arcade
On the other hand I haven't played the game in many years and I don't know if it would live up to the hype in my head as the rules are fairly simple. Also, at some point space will become an issue for me and there are other games I would like to have over this one.
Its a toss up, for the right price and mabye mood I'm in I might buy it.
Good luck if you decide to get it, the game I'm sure will be fun for awhile and you could always sell down the road
Thanks. You sound just like me. I would not pay $1,000 for the game. $800 tops. I would gladly trade my silent scope 2 arcade game for it -- even plus a little cash.
I figure I will call on Friday and make a Saturday trip if it is still available. Odds are it will sell tonight.
