    Hey guys,

Just asking for advise. Which game do you think is best for home use only?

The Simpson’s pinball party or the black knight limited edition?

I’m looking at both. Been keen on Simpson’s and the black knight for a while.

Simpson’s has a lot of updates like colour dmd etc to.

Naturally the black knight is a little
    More $ but nothing crazy.

May I ask why you feel that?

Honestly you couldn't have picked two games that are more different. Super fast in your face gameplay with a medieval knight theme vs a classic animated comedy series with a lot of stop and go. The only similarity between the two is they each have an upper playfield.

Have you played a lot of each one? Both are not bad games, and ultimately it always comes down to personal preference.

I’ve played the black knight a fair few time’s without the upper field. It was fun and fast paced.

The Simpson’s I’ve played a fair few time’s now too and it is slower but still very fun.

I’ve played them both at shops though and am looking to buy 1 for the house. Leaning towards Simpson’s still as more suitable to kids etc.

Just thought I’d ask the experts. As I am certainly not!!!

Man so different. Tspp is expansive and lots to do, Black Knight is just face paced/action packed. Hard to say.

Get the simpsons. Play it for a year, love it, sell it, get BKLE. Both are great games you will enjoy. The simpsons will be worth about what you pay for it in a year. BK will likely have fallen in price.

If money is no object look at the BK topper!

    What is bk topper?

This topper makes me want to buy the game.

I prefer TSPP more depth in the rules and a unique layout with lots of shots.

What are you planning to pay for the Simpsons? Have seen it many times when new folks come in and overpay for a game and they end up taking a loss selling it. Please don’t do that. If it is priced “close” to the BKLE you should look for another one.

And if the BKLE is priced close to the average Pinside price of a TSPP, you should buy it instantly.

Definitely two polar opposites. I finally got a chance to play Black Knight, an LE, and I'm not a fan. First off, the constant 120% pace music is too much and becomes mind numbing in my opinion, especially the main track. Second, there's not a lot of shots, and the upper playfield has very little to do with an unappealing large metal ball lock with a few flat plastics screwed into it. Steve's custom callouts sound muffled throughout the game which I'm not a fan of. Overall I think a Black Knight pin based on the medieval period with a Medieval Madness vibe would have been much more appealing. I just can't get into the serious cyber death metal theme Stern went for. I would easily pick Simpsons .

Funny, I had a chance to play one a few weeks ago, and the fast-paced music is one of the things I loved about it.

BKLE will get boring way before Tspp.
