Quoted from Rarehero:

I'm shocked that you're on the side of a company selling defective products and not fixing them as promised.
This is all very simple.
-Stern sold defective games.
-Stern acknowledged games were defective.
-Stern claims they fixed the problem.
-Stern continues to manufacture games with problems allegedly fixed.
If the playfields are in fact fixed...why do customers have to pull teeth to get a replacement?

FWIW I just took delivery of a SMVE last week. So far no issues. Build date Nov 28, 2016. No ghosting last I looked.

Quoted from Rarehero:

Hope it stays awesome. Like I've said before, it's a crapshoot. Yours might look like a beautiful sheet of glass after 2000 plays while someone else's looks like lumps of clay.

And I've got no problem with someone wanting their defective game replaced or refunded. If it were me, I'd feel the same.

You mean a week or two right?

Yes.

Quoted from NJGecko:

You know...this frankly really sits wrong with me. It totally changes your tone from being a crusader to be made right on a product you felt was defective to "I didn't really like the game anyway, so this just worked out as a good excuse to return it"

Kind of the opposite of a pump-and-dump, eh?

If movies and TV have taught me anything - and I've learned everything I know from them - it's that communication is the root of all problems

Yes. As Homer Simpson once said,
