#7 3 years ago

These both look great

#8 3 years ago

Wow amazing work. I really think Initial D would be a good retheme project as well.

#10 3 years ago

Very nice. I am not familiar with Lupin but the machine looks amazing and it will definitely be unique.

#11 3 years ago

Do you have and images of how you made this? Id really like to know you had the plastics done and the inlays on the apron. Looks all top notch, manga collectors would be drooling for this.

#12 3 years ago

Incredible

#13 3 years ago

Looks fantastic and very professionally made. Did you recode the rules also, any video of game play you could share?

#14 3 years ago

Thought I was going to find a Britney Spears pinball.
Glad that was not the case.

#15 3 years ago

Badass!

#16 3 years ago

Absolutely impressed!

Is this theme roughly based on the Netflix show "Lupin" from France? Or completely different?

I'm not familiar with Lupin the 3rd, but just based on the art style it has to be a Japanese manga/anime of some kind.

I see things like this and realize I have little to no drive or talent... Nice work

Yes.

If you remember back in the day, there was also a laser disc arcade game, similar to Dragon's Lair, based on this character. It was called Cliffhanger. It used footage from a Lupin III movie or movies.

Hey Darden - would you share more information about the laser cutter that you used? Everything looks really great!

Thanks!!

Most hobbyists are using generic Chinese 40W laser cutters because there are a few shareware software programs that run them very well and the software is basically what lets the Chinese product down. The shareware is all in good English unlike the crap software provided with most of them. Usually the machines themselves are pretty solid and excellent value for money.

Goggle "K40 laser" and you will find a heap of stuff including YouTube videos how to do it all.

UPDATE:

I just Googled and got this:

K40 laser
“K40” is a moniker for an affordable laser cutter that goes for about $300 to $400. ... These desktop machines can be modded to cut anything from wood to acrylic, and they're a great introduction to the laser-cutting world (assuming you're ready to tinker)
