Going to look at a Taxi tomorrow. I've kinda wanted one for a while, but they are always beat to snot. This one looks nice... HUO since 1993. I'm sure it's dirty, but the playfield looks pretty good based on what I can tell from the pictures. Unfortunately it's a Lola, but the cab looks pretty decent with a few scuffs and it has the topper. So what do you guys think it's worth?

"If there wear just put up with it becase CPR is releasing a Taxi Playfield."

I'd rather get one that doesn't need a CPR playfield and save the $600.

"post some pics"

He took the ad down, so I don't have access to them anymore. Taxi is one of my favorites on The Williams Collection, plus it's one of the few pins I actually remember playing as a teenager (wasn't much of a pinhead then... more into arcades).

Also, it'd match my truck nicely!

That ended up being a waste of time. The playfield was shot. Raised inserts, wear around the pops and ball swirl marks everywhere. Plus someone replaced the slingshot plastics with some from another game (I think maybe F-14) and the rubber was rotting off of it. The ramps were semi-decent (small cracks in the right one), but it needed a new playfield and a lot of TLC for sure. The owner wouldn't budge from $1200, so don't waste your time on this one.

Because that's what he paid for it 15 years ago.

Quoted from Blackbeard:

I often find it funny that usually pics look decent, but then in person things are much different.
I always ask for pics honing in on the spots of wear on the playfield.

This guy was not a pinhead though. I doubt he even knows what a playfield is. I asked him if any of the ramps were cracked and he sent me a blurry video. Not a big deal... we had a great lunch in Richmond and stopped in Williamsburg on the way back. Kids had a good time.
