Doing some brainstorming for a pin mod, and I have a question.

Can the signal from a pair of optos be used by more than one controller? For example: can the opto pair located under the Vengence in Stern's Star Trek be used to trigger something (via an Arduino or Raspberry Pi or whatever) in addition to having it trigger what they normally do within the existing control system?

I'd like to be able to use an existing opto trigger to do something else, without disrupting or negating the original intention of the optos and without damaging the main control system.

    Thanks in advance!
