Tons of 1-hit wonders, especially from the 1970's and 80's. POST A LINK TO SHARE... Here are a few that come to mind:

Kix actually has more hits than that, I didn't even know of that song, 'don't close your eyes' is by far their biggest song made it to number 11 on top 100 billboard list

I'm thinking of Nena 99 red balloons

Nineteen by Paul Hardcastle.

Beds are Burning by Midnight Oil.

One Night in Bankok by Murray Head.

Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell.

And my personal fav:

Green-Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf.

Quoted from Euchrid:

Beds are Burning by Midnight Oil.

This is probably true in that it was their only hit here in the states, but probably not in Oz. I do like Midnight Oil quite a bit and I still listen to Diesel and Dust quite often.

Anybody remember this one?

Sugarloaf is not a one hit wonder.

They also had a hit with "Don't Call Us" which I think is much better than "Green Eyed Lady."

Technically, they're a two hit wonder.

Yeah, you're right. But, I couldn't include the link to this awesome song if I acknowledge them as a two hit wonder.

Not sure why I always liked this song so much but "Come on Eileen"

#11 8 years ago

Is that song Na Na Na Na Hey hey hey a one hit wonder?

#12 8 years ago

stuck in the middle with you. stealers wheel

Don't have a link because work hates You Tube, but at bar trivia last month there was a question about identifying the band that is considered a one hit wonder. Too my surprise the answer from the choices provided was Thin Lizzy with "The Boys are Back in Town".

#18 8 years ago

I believe this is the best-selling one-hit wonder of all time:

Slightly O/T, but I ordered a set of 1400 vids from iOffer a few years ago...man some of the stuff on there I haven't seen in 30+ years. If anyone needs info on this PM me!

Or Canada, or Europe. More hits than just that 1 song.

American Pie, Don Mclean just couldn't pull off another large hit like that.

You know that was wrong.

Steam. Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Good Bye. Studio musicians with a One Hit.

Since I could only give this one thumb up I thought I'd also say that that song is too good for a kiss album. But hey, seems drunk women will take their tops off to the most shittiest of "rock" bands and guys will put up with make-up encrusted dudes wearing platform heels singing terrible tunes because of the topless drunk women.

Cool! Love that song! I want to add it to the roster!

I remember this one..late seventies?

What people don't realise is that it's about a prisoner masturbating over pictures of his girlfriend in his prison cell. Hence the turning Japanese

Thin Lizzy even in the US had 3 Top 100 hits. In the UK 7 Top 20 Hits.

I think a protest is in order then. I may have missed out on valuable bar bucks as a result!

#39 8 years ago

To be fair, she was a one hit wonder in the USA. In Germany, she fared better.

Na Na Na Na Na....what a great video! I forgot all about that one!!

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
"Midnight Moses"
1972.

#42 8 years ago

Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett and the Crypt Kickers. A Halloween classic and nothing else he did came close to its success and legacy.

#43 8 years ago

Does it have to be from the 70s and 80s? This one is from the late 90s and reminds me of my then girlfriend and I before I left for Iraq:

Save tonight by Eagle-Eye Cherry
