I recently picked up an Olympic hockey that had been sitting a long time . It's powers on , no lights , just hums. If I hit the credit button it blows a fuse . It will not start a game . I can't seem to figure out what's causing it . Any help is greatly appreciated . I was able to dig out a schematic for it.

I unhooked the coin door, it now won't blow a fuse when I turn on the game and engage the left flipper button to turn on lights.

So I'm getting lights now without blowing a fuse. What should I check next ?

One of these fuse replacement circuit breakers will lower the frustration level while working on fuse blowing problems

If there's a burnt looking coil on the coin door, you can unhook it and leave it that way.
How soon after you press the credit button does it blow the fuse?

Thanks,

As soon as I push the credit button it blows.

Is there a way to start a game with the coin door unhooked?

Yes, but at this point just cut one of the wires going to the coil on the coin door to see if it’s the root cause.

Great game, picked one up a couple months ago.

If the fuse blows when you push the credit button but not when you push the left flipper button, then the coil on the coin door is very unlikely to be at fault. And cutting wires is bad practice.

You can start a game by activating the Coin relay. This could be done electrically but the easiest way is to push the metal armature next to the coil or the plastic switch actuator.

Thanks .

I guess I should clarify. They installed one of those credit buttons , so it isn't actually located on the coindoor

I desoldered the wires to the coil, and plugged the coin door back in.

Turned game on , hit left flipper and activated lights . Credit button does nothing but a fuse does not blow .however still can't start a game

Credit button does nothing

If you have credits on the Replay unit and pressing the Replay button doesn't activate the Replay relay,
Inspect and diagnose this circuit with Alligator clip jumper wires
