I have a tiny corner of my game room where I plan on putting a 1932 Five Star Final. (A regular sized pin won't fit)

I would like to place some old timey pictures and newspaper clippings about pinball on the walls next to the Five Star Final.

I found a few pictures online but am wondering if anybody has others they could share. (Black and white)

It would be appreciated.

After more digging I managed to find some decent resolution photos. Just sharing them here in case anybody wants to use them down the road.

I guess if you're going to smash Bingo and Pinball machines a minimum of PPE (safety glasses etc) would be a bit prudent.

The "Chronicling America Project" by the library of congress lets you search old newspapers and there appear to be a lot of results. This might turn up some useful photos for you:
https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/

The Google Newspaper archive is also useful -- you can specify a date range and it turns up a lot of results for Pinball:

That library of congress search function for newspaper clippings is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks.

It even enables you to download the pages in high resolution Jpeg format.

Nothin' like casual Friday inside the ol' office just raw doggin' a sledgie over glass with no ball-goggles whatsoever.

I spent a good hour scouring that library of congress site for articles and ads from the 1900-1950s. Managed to slap together a collage of clippings I found.

Thinking of printing & laminating it. (I had to reduce the file size for Pinside. Feel free to use it Pinsiders)

The weirdest one was the pinball company in Kansas City that got bombed.

Pissed off the wrong person.

Back in the early 1950's a bomb went off in the doorway of a distributor in North Minneapolis.

Glad to hear it... I got sucked into the rabbit hole of just reading the articles for an embarrassing amount of time this afternoon. Fascinating stuff.

Seeing that Hayburners in the background, knowing that it probably got smashed shortly after this picture was taken really hurts....

Here's another one from "The Nome Nugget" Feb 19th, 1960. (I blanked out the non related story on the left)

The guy who got his car bombed doesn't seem fazed one bit!

"It could be a prank by neighborhood kids."

The Wyandotte Herald. August 4th, 1939.

Was "chubby" the first coined term for a widebody?

Just got the poster back from the printer. It came out much better than I was hoping. (It looks better in person)

The file size is 12MB and has a resolution of 7000x5400 approx. If anyone is interested in it let me know and I can email it to you.

Old timey corner is shaping up nicely. Thanks again for all the help folks!
