Bally, 1976Working on an Old Chicago that does not count bonus when the ball drains, but does correctly count bonus when you hit the Collect Bunus hole.
When the ball drains I get 1,000 in bonus every time no matter how many letters are lit
Anyone have an idea where to look? I am fairly new to EM repairs and schematics. Just finished up a Williams Aztec and the schematics are arranged differently on Bally.

When the ball drains and closes the Out Hole switch, the Out Bonus Score relay should fire and prevent the Out Hole relay from firing until the Bonus counts down to zero:

I suspect that either your Out Bonus Score relay is letting go too soon, or the switches that fire the Out Hole relay (in the red box) are closing too soon (or stuck closed).

Thanks MarkG for your quick response. After a day of carefully checking connections, filing switches, etc. I landed on the issue inadvertently.
After hitting a brick wall, I decided to take apart the bonus stepper unit to check connections and solder points. Upon putting back together I noticed the Escapement Pawl (P-3387) was broken off and the arm was missing.
So, when the ball drains the stepper unit would reset immediately and not step down as normal. Because I was used to seeing the bonus collect hole count without stepping, it did not occur to me it was a mechanical issue.
I have the part on order.
Problem solved.
