You’ll never find an older battery than in a pinball machine. I just found a 2003 in my “new to me” twilight zone

BTw, the “best if used by date” was 2003. That probably means the battery was made in 1995 or so.

No leaks is impressive (and lucky!), still charged would be off the scale.

I didn’t put a meter on them, but that built in tester showed nothing, and the pinball machine kept losing track of the time, so I’m pretty sure they were dead.

The machine did hold the settings surprisingly.

Lucky for you those batteries with built in squeeze to test were a horrible idea. I had energizers less than a year old with that feature leak. Not suprised at the life of battery as the uA of current draw on them. I just pulled a set out of a machine from 2013 that still measured 4.5V
