How cool are these! Taken at the Pleasure Centre, Maroochydore, Queensland over a few years during the 1970s, these were the days.

Old arcade photos from Australia are near impossible to find, these have just surfaced.

Does anybody else have old photos they can share? I have collected approx. 1,500 from around 1910 to 1985 that I have loaded up on my fb page, always keen to see more

Not to mention what looks like the row of pins blocking an exit

    This is amazing.

Any idea if the owners of this arcade moved and opened "Challenge" in North Haven, NSW?

C'mon dude, get your priorities straight. What's more important, loading the place with awesome EM pins, or being able to get out in the event of a major conflagration? C'mon now!!!

    This is great.

I was a young teenager at the time and the clothes and hair is so familiar.

That arcade could have been in my hometown.

I mostly remember the early SS machines and arcade games of 1980 when I was let loose with my drivers license.

I so rocked "Joust" the arcade game and not pinball.

Brilliant photos. I remember several of those arcade games. I remember going to an arcade in the middle of Surfers when I was on holiday in the late 70's. Ahh good times!!

@PinballNZ, I think the arcade in Surfers was called Replay World. It was great.

From what I can tell from the machines they have that the year the pictures were taken were 1973, but I could not see all the machines so someone may prove me wrong. Great Times with No Solid State pinball machines!

I think you're right, this was when Cavill Ave was tiny and had the Greyhound bus terminal at the beach end.

And Hodges Ave was filled with old beach shacks which became 2 million dollar sites...

Love the photos, thanks for sharing. Have you ever found any pics from the Coolangatta arcades as they were my second home throughout the 70's?
