Quoted from konjurer:I think you're likely right. At the end of the day, I want fun for my $$s. And I haven't written off ACNC yet either. I played it Expo and it sucked but the machine was having major issues so I want to give it another chance.
Definitely give ACNC another chance. I was very skeptical until I played it at TPF and was surprised how far it has come with the new code. Had a lot of fun on it. Kept going back for more. They had one ACNC in the King Pin booth and two in the Spooky booth. All three games were busy with a line the entire show. Planning to pick up a used one for a friend next week. Pretty excited about getting a chance to play it more in a home setting.
On the flip side, was very excited to play Oktoberfest at TPF for the first time. On the few different machines I played it was very difficult to get it up the ramp on all of them. Some say it could be a voltage issue with so many games sharing AC power at the event.
I can say that compared to ACNC, the art / animations were not nearly as good for me personally. I really didn't have a natural desire to want to play Oktoberfest more after a few games. If I don't ever play it again, I don't think I will be sad about that. It has a lot going on, but didn't do it for me as much as I wanted it to.
Looking forward to playing Wonka. Layout looking good. Not a huge fan of the art, but can't wait to flip it and see where the code goes.
