Everyone is entitled to their opinion and entitled to spend $7000 plus dollars any way you want.
However let me put it to you this way... all pinball games get boring after a while. I think WOZ might be the game that now gets played the least yet still never comes up for sale and when they do they get top dollar and sell within minutes.
Now we see Houdini’s coming up for sale and they fetching about 5500 to 5800 dollars. Houdini is a better theme than Oktoberfest, the artwork on the game looks better, and it comes across as a licensed theme. October fest might be a more fun game than Houdini but in the long run Houdini will keep more value than Oktoberfest because of the relation to an American Icon.
You will buy Octoberfest today for 7400 and you will sell it a year from now for a 2k loss... because of the theme, you’ll lose a great deal of value as the game ages. Whereas I think Wonka is a game that you might sell for less than you pay but it won’t be much. With Wonka you cal sell the game locally on facebook or craigslist and just like for example GOT you’ll fine a fan of the movie/TV show.
Oktoberfest will probably only be hunted down by opportunist pinball buyers. Meaning prepare to take a bath.
WOZ resells awesome because people who don’t buy pinballs will buy it because of the theme.
In the long run lets say 3 years from now Oktoberfest probably sells for about $4000 and Wonka will still sell for 7k plus.
On every single level Wonka is the better investment if you’re looking to buy a new pinball game. Hands down.
I agree Oktoberfest is a fun game, but the artwork and theme are confusing, cgi graphics are average or below average, and the theme is a D at best... I agree the game gets an A for fun but that has nothing to do with what it will be worth after another 6 to 8 new pinballs go up for sale over the next 12 months.
