They've got to be close, right? There was new code at PAPA this summer, and at Expo a month ago.

What's the benefit to us as consumers? The only thing I see is Stern potentially increasing their profit margins.
I don't think those things are correlated. I'm just surprised to see the excitement surrounding both. Both seem like negative things for the end-user.
Quoted from SunKing:Then why read it?
I'm happy - and agree that AC/DC has perhaps the best software in pinball. That being said, I still think there could be some tweaks/improvements to the code. I'm not 'demanding' or screaming for an update, but I'd be happy to see one.
^This.
There are already revised versions of code that have found themselves into the tourney at Expo, and PAPA. Yes, Lyman has done a great job. Still, I think he recognizes that there are things that could be balanced, and other things that could be added. You certainly won't be obligated to update the code if you don't want to.
I don't see people saying "the code is perfect" on a public forum (that's accessible to Stern) being beneficial to the community as a whole. AC/DC is still for sale, and has the potential to be the best game ever, but it's not there yet. Weren't many of you complaining about the cannon firing into the TNT targets? What do the devil horns do? Is it good that the cannon can't be struck in succession? Should the saucer behind the cannon (the hardest shot in the game) do nothing outside of a single mode? Couldn't the game benefit from an accessible mini-wizard mode?
Sorry if I sound like I'm complaining, but I'm happy to hear that Lyman is working on code. It's not the most pressing need in all of pinball, but the game could use an update. It doesn't seem to be a popular opinion, but I don't think we should let Stern off the hook because they did "pretty good".
With a few plays, I still can't figure out how to get the music louder than the sound fx... I've tried setting the music high in the standard. Music high and speech low in the game settings, and the opposite... no matter what, the speech/fx always seem to be higher than the music.
I'm glad it got an update, the H2H mode is playable now (and fun). There are still some other things I'd like completed, like you mention.
