I have an issue somewhat similar with a Niwumph that will randomly blow one of the transistors. Ace said he thinks I have a diode that isn't quite bad, but just enough and it is causing it to "backfeed" and blow it, he suggested I replace all the coil diodes. For what it will cost, I'm going to try it. Good luck..
