I’ve been tempted for ages to get some light cycle side rails cut in the same vein as Star Trek LE, I’ve got a friend who is a high end carpenter that could whip up a new cabinet routed out for a run of LEDs may get it started soon.
I found an original ( made by Hook Pinball ) Laser Cut Side Rails and Hinges in matt grey color. Now " Pinball plating Chris" plating it these parts ( Chrome ), and the Hooked Pinball Robert made it to me an EL lighting panel kits for these.

It is only held on with 2-sided foam tape so it doesn't hurt the Gem plastic. It does look a bit "cartoony" but most people don't notice and I like the way it looks on the playfield. Thanks for noticing.
