I agree with what others have said about learning on an old ramp. If you can not source that, try scuffing up a piece of clear plastic (lexan or equivalent). You will soon learn the fine line of hot enough and too hot (warps, bubbles). Really does a nice job when done right, I flame polish ramps, clear playfields (like on Elvis), tops of plastics if scratched, etc.

Kit looks awesome...wish I had that translite instead of CLU, I'd buy the kit in a heartbeat.

Anyone running ice blue lighting from Comet for GI in their machine? The machine I bought has 5 different types of bulbs "to get it just right" and I am thinking of swapping it out to either frosted cool or ice blue.

Awesome, thank you.
So.. I don't even know what sound effects denote the start of super spinners, super pops, etc. on the Pro, either I don't notice them at all or I'm so used to them they blend in. Anybody know the sound calls? Otherwise I'll just do some testing with the glass off to get familiar with the sounds and hunt through the Pro rom to find them. Then I'll hunt through the LE rom to find the voice callouts, and hopefully the time allotted for the Pro effects can support the LE voice callouts.

I would think the sounds are at the same markers in the software for both Pro and LE, so if you know what they are on the LE it might be easier to start there. Only played with the browser a few times, so could be wrong.

Added some ice blue LEDs from comet, blends in very nicely with this game...not as intense in person as the picture shows (I hate rainbow puke looking PFs). It has a mix of warm (yellow plastic), ice blue (blue plastic and ramps), and natural white for the rest.

Had some fun merging a few different Tron mixes into one. Kept some of the original music, but changed out most. Also added voice for the targets, but went with pop bumpers are flashing (since they are when you activate them). Defaults to freeplay. Will leave the link up for a bit if anybody wants to try it; use at your own risk.

Quoted from Durzel:

Very nice. Ice Blue does indeed look perfect on Tron.
Just FYI though - you've installed the Recogniser plastic protector above the plastic it's designed to protect.

Thanks for the reminder. There is no plastic underneath...previous owner removed it to allow for a better light show from the clear spinner. Original plastic is in coin box, just keep forgetting to install it.

Thanks for sharing the file! How similar is this to the 'daft punk' remix version going around a while back (which I currently run on mine). Would be nice to try out a new mix - do you have any quick video to get a feel for it?

You can trial it in Pinball Browser prior to install if want to get an idea of the sounds first. There is no video. I think GorillaBiscuits summarized it well.

Quoted from monkeyboypaul:

Highly recommended listening.
I emailed Stern code support straight afterwards with my annual report on the Pro not having the double scoring call-out, and pointed them in the direction of it being referenced in the podcast. I also got my annual ‘no reply any all’, so I will not be holding my breath. The new Stern site seems to have broken the link to the read me file too. Haven’t checked the .bin file link yet.

There is a couple versions of the code with the call-outs added in (using Pinball Browser). PM me if you want a copy.

Yes, was a good listen. Quite confident that a VE is finally coming, just hope they make the updated code compatible with the original versions.
