Quoted from monkeyboypaul:

Does anyone else get balls trapped up here, between the ramps?
They seem to jump up onto the disc plastic then go around to the left and get stuck.
[quoted image]

Should be impossible with the rubbers surrounding the disc, assuming they’re fitted/intact on yours?

Which ones do you mean? This is when the ball somehow jumps up on top of the spinning disc area then makes its way left and gets wedged in that groove between the ramps.

I think your best bet is to figure out where the airball is coming from and fix what is causing that. To get a ball to jump up that far onto the plastic to go all the way over there is one heck of an airball. That should be a once in a 1000+ games type of thing at the most.

What side rails are you having done? What design did you go with an original of yours?

I’ve been tempted for ages to get some light cycle side rails cut in the same vein as Star Trek LE, I’ve got a friend who is a high end carpenter that could whip up a new cabinet routed out for a run of LEDs may get it started soon.

I found an original ( made by Hook Pinball ) Laser Cut Side Rails and Hinges in matt grey color. Now " Pinball plating Chris" plating it these parts ( Chrome ), and the Hooked Pinball Robert made it to me an EL lighting panel kits for these.

the Old grey color:

Joined the club tonight. Bought a HUO Tron Pro.

It's completely box stock, so if anyone has any surplus mods that they're looking to sell...

Well, I hate to say it, but I left the club recently. Sold it to a good friend to raise money towards a JJPOTC. I'll miss it but I'm loving POTC!

I was just watching the PAPA Tron tutorial by Bowen. At the very end he mentions a video mode that is acheived by hitting the Gem shot a bunch. Has anyone ever seen this mode?
Is it real?

Btw what figure have you used on your pop bumper? Not normally into figures but that actually looks really good!

It was a joke. No video mode in Tron.

The addition of the figure was more of a curiosity than a planned mod...just wanted to see if it would work. I picked up the Tron figure at Target, a local department store...I was more interested in the base as it looked to be the size of a pop-bumber cap...took it home and drilled a 1/4 hole in the center and it fit right over the light. It is only held on with 2-sided foam tape so it doesn't hurt the Gem plastic. It does look a bit "cartoony" but most people don't notice and I like the way it looks on the playfield. Thanks for noticing.

I’m not much into adding figures myself, but that does look pretty damn good I have to admit. Looks like it came from the factory.

#9676 63 days ago

I normally don't care for tacked-on action figures, but that works really well!

Nope it comes from a time when playfield quality was a priority.

Does anyone by chance have an extra light module for the Eli Ramp Light kit from pinbits?

I had a friend purchase a "complete" unused kit for me at a show last year and I am just getting around to installing it. I opened the package today and noticed I am missing one of the light modules that the fiber optics plug into.

I have emailed pinbits but waiting to hear back. I was unable to leave a voice mail when I called.

i have found they only respond when you give them money. buy something small and add your request in the notes section of the purchase order.

Still, no wear at all on shooter lane or scoop and no protectors ever fitted is pretty good. Only low plays surely, my other Sterns of that age show some wear. Also no wear around flippers buttons. I know the guy I bought it from had it for a while and never used it, Judge Dreads the mod guy.

I added the action figure too from old Disney toys series. It light up from the inside (removed internal led system and added a standard 6.3 v inside, then connected to the bumper light)

Well, you could be like me & spend a small portion of your evening tuning the LED OCD that you installed a few days ago, because those yellow LEDs somehow behave differently from all of the others (come on much earlier & stay on much longer).

Hardware installation: easy
Software installation: trivial
Hook up laptop to LED OCD: easypants
Create a new profile, assign it to all yellow lamps, tweak its brightness values a few times & send the settings to the LED OCD until the yellows were behaving: not at all difficult

(& then play a dozen unimpressive games)

(& then crack a beer)

Yellow LEDs should be banned underneath the playfield! They suck. Use whites - that’s the Comet official advice. They’re tolerated above the playfield, as long as they’re recent versions and frosted.

Kudos on the OCD board - no game should be without one.

Turned out mine had the Redshiftled kit fitted and not the Eli, amazing bit of kit. The dimming of the gi is pretty dramatic too.
I think this also does something to the inserts as they seem smooth enough in most situations.
I normally fit led ocd but seems this doesn’t need it.

Question is does the Redshiftled kit control and smooth out the insert leds?

Good evening ! Does anybody have a sound mod similar to Clelands for ST for Tron Legacy? Something with different music, songs and call outs? I believe I’ve seen something in the past but can’t seem to find anything now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
P.s. I would imagine it would be an img.file I could flash to the SD card.

There are several mixes for tron. I know the Nosro mix and the movie mix. There is also a dubstep mix. I would really like to see a mix based on the music from TNA, from Scot Danesi. I think that will fit great. Who wants to make that

I got the 3.2mm EL wire from eBay .

I had a local 3D print studio print the letters and frame and color match vinyl.

Then spent the 60 hours or so it takes to learn/develop skill/refine skill/manipulate the 3D printed fragile letters, EL wire, general wiring/solder and hot glue.

I think if I made another, It might take me 40 hours to build.

EL wire splicing is very time consuming and difficult, once you refine the skill, you’ll have it for life.
