More cost cutting.
Few le’s sold for $15k and $17k on eBay! Havent people learned from mando, prices go down once they hit homes? mando were 15k and now 11-12 range. There are 1000.

This just goes to show that Stern can make more LEs. 1250 or 1500 next time. Enough to satisfy demand.

I am aiming for a modest amount of flippage. Super self-conscience of this tbh. haha. Just came to the conclusion...it's not my theme. Even if it's the best game ever made.
I've got my LE ordered and paid in full but I intend to unbox it and play it. I'm excited about this game.

I bet JJ loves that...he should charge 50% of any profit!

He does charge $200 for the switching of orders. And I’ll send him some $ in addition. I am totally fine in keeping the machine myself if it doesn’t sell.

Oh god... it was Orange County Pinballs too; the OG $15K markup on day-one peeps
I guess... thank you, for rising all boats on the tide; but FU?
I mean, a tough spot for me, capitalism and doing business versus "doing the right thing" whatever that is. I did that latter bit yesterday, not buying two, but one, showing another pinhead the contact info for the other MSRP I found, and leading another half dozen pinheads to other sub $13K machines, in the order of pricing I found them, and order of DM contacts. But... I don't really fault OCP; it's business in the end, but, it's also shit. Tough

You’re all good man. Don’t worry about the haters. Worry about you.
I’m no communist/socialist. I support freedom and capitalism. It’s your game now. Do as you please. Make as much money as you can. Good luck with the sale!

Lol. Being a capitalist doesn’t mean you have no dignity. If participating in toxic behavior that hurts the hobby you love to make a few quick bucks means being a capitalist then send me to Cuba. Also as a distributor openly selling games above msrp is horrible for long term business. Would any of you buy anything from those flipper distros?
Quoted from Scandell:Just came to the conclusion...it's not my theme.
My question is...is this excuse going to take over the popular LE flipper excuses such as:
My car needs work.
I accidentally bought 2.
My fiancé’s parents are backing out of financing our wedding.
Theme to me is the one and only aspect of a game that you can unequivocally confirm from a launch announcement. There is enough information to make a decision whether it's a theme you like or not. What's the next excuse to come from this?
I didn't realize what I was buying.
this theme made buying this an almost no-brainer
(I may have an issue), but the level of fun I see here made it a complete lock. Still sad I couldn't get an LE because I didn't want to pay >$1500 in gouge, but honestly, I prefer the premium backglass design...I'll just need to get a shaker, etc, separately.
20210809_192355 (resized).jpgLooks fun, not for me personally but I'll throw money into one on location. Looking forward to the gameplay stream. Hopefully the rules are less convoluted than Elwin's last title.
I just always love the people sitting on their high horse and getting angry and people that "flip" games. They'll say that they would just take that extra LE spot at a good price and pass it on to someone else that wants the game (I would personally do this for my friends, but not strangers). They pride themselves in being generous. Meanwhile, they could sell their pinball machines and donate that money to feed starving children and literally save human lives. They won't do that though. Instead, they pride themselves in passing on a good deal to someone who already has enough money for a $10,000+ toy...
I see right through it all. It's BS. The reality is that the person who is angered by a "flipper", doesn't have the capital, the balls, or the ambition to do it themselves. They don't have the spare money to buy another $10k machine and sit on it for a couple months before selling it. Or they are too scared that the machine won't actually flip for more (because it might not). They don't want to take that risk, because there is definitely risk there. This person hides this fear or lack of capital and ambition behind a mask. A mask that says flipping a game is greedy or bad for the hobby. It's total BS.
The world revolves around buying goods at a lower price and then selling them it at a higher price. A car dealer takes in a trade, and sells it for more. A restaurant buys meat, then cooks it and sells it for more. An investor buys stocks at a lower price and sells them at a higher price. A homeowner buys a house and then sells it for more. Each and every single one of us this does these things.
If you have the chance to buy more than one LE, I say go for it. Then take that profit and invest it. Even if it's just $1,000 profit, moderate returns of 6% on that money will be $6,000 in 30 years. An 8% return on that money would give you over $10,000 in 30 years. Say you made $2,000 profit on a game? Well 6% would get you $12,000+ in 30 years, and 8% would get you over $21,000 in 30 years. I mean I'm sure most of you guys are good people, but $20,000 is $20,000.

You are not making sense. Take the 10k from the second LE and invest it directly. No need to waste time with a flip that will produce a marginal return and as a bonus you don’t also fuck over others in the hobby
Quoted from nicoy3k:You are not making sense. Take the 10k from the second LE and invest it directly. No need to waste time with a flip that will produce a marginal return and as a bonus you don’t also fuck over others in the hobby
20% is a marginal return? 20% is an incredible return!
You could definitely just invest the $10k, but you could also make an extra $2k and then invest $12k. Even better! Or just invest the $2k and use the other capital to make more money. Invest the profit again and rinse and repeat. You would be much further ahead financially if you did it this way. It takes money to make money.
Quick math....
Investing the $10k now @ 8% would be $109,000 in 30 years. Not a bad deal.
Flipping one game for $2000 profit and then investing the $12k in two months from now @8% would be $131,000 in 30 years. Even better!
Flipping only one game a year for a $2000 profit and then investing that money @ 8% would be $261,000 in 30 years.
Yeah. You're right. Doesn't make sense. Just invest the $10,000 and move on.

It isn’t, a 20% return non-compounding return capped at 2k is shit. Your logic is completely flawed. He can just invest 12k of his own money and in 30 years the difference is 2k...

I'm in favor of Stern making as much money as they can on the Limited Edition. Keep raising that price or make more of them. I don't care. Just stop raising pricing on the Pros and Premiums. I'm tapping out. I would like to own one, but at current pricing I'll just play them on route.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone justify shitty human behaviour with “it’s just business” I could buy a Godzilla LE.
Quoted from gambit3113:Bring her over in a diaper.
Just give the word when you get your GZ. Shes'a massive Godzilla fan, even more than me (which is nuts). Maybe a bigger kaiju fan in general than me. She's also into Pacific Rim and Gamera.

I just looked at the USD to CAD exchange rate. No wonder you're salty.
Quoted from Scandell:I just looked at the USD to CAD exchange rate. No wonder you're salty.
Not salty. Had a confirmed Mando LE spot when it launched, told my distributor to give it to someone else who wanted the game when I decided to pass. Some would say that was naive, or “I had no balls” or believe in communism or some other layer of bullshit because I didn’t take it to flip for a few thousand. I figures it was just basic decency. To each their own.
Quoted from paul_8788:Had a confirmed Mando LE spot
You lost me at "Mando". 15 currently for sale. Dud title.
Quoted from Scandell:You lost me at "Mando". 15 currently for sale. Dud title.
At launch it was being marked up and flipped just like Godzilla is now. I know you know this, so at this point you are just being deliberately obtuse. Good luck on your sale.
Quoted from paul_8788:so at this point you are just being deliberately obtuse. Good luck on your sale.
I am really not trying to be. The game did not review well from the beginning. If Godzilla fulfills on the expectation of being a great title, this flip is modest.
Quoted from Scandell:You lost me at "Mando". 15 currently for sale. Dud title.
Half of them are still in boxes and none are selling anywhere near MSRP. Dud title? I think not.
Quoted from Scandell:Time will tell.
You’re annoying, just sell your flip and stop posting about it
What is the best replacement Godzilla toy on the market that fits in this machine? I don't know about you, but it's been eye opening to see the prices of Godzilla merchandise. Fanbase is much bigger than I thought.
Quoted from Scandell:I am really not trying to be. The game did not review well from the beginning. If Godzilla fulfills on the expectation of being a great title, this flip is modest.
Not sure why you are trying to justify your flip decision to anyone else. I disagree with the behaviour, but if you are fine with it, go for it. Best of luck.
