THE ART IS GREAT!
I can't see how anyone can complain about this game, but people complain about everything, so I guess I get it.
There has been a thing about themes around here where lots of people are like, I hope Stern doesn't get this or that license, because assets, toys, mechs will be lacking. This game has me saying I'm so glad Stern got this license. Not shitting on Spooky either. I love them. I know they wanted it and all that, but this game is here now and it kills.
You can hate on aspects of the art, but TOHO approved this. TOHO fucking approved of this art. The end. And there are a million fucking godzilla toys to throw in the game if you don't like the one there. You can paint the one in it to your taste.
If ZY did a darker GZ on the middle of the pf with all the sick colors popping all around it, people would be complaining about that.
This game is sick and people are never happy.

This has been discussed before, the Godzilla figure and the also the game logo is very similar to the movie poster from 1954. I for one am very happy with the art package but agree that the figure is kind of eeehhh even tough it is similar to the 1954 poster.

I understand that the art is different as far as Godzilla movies are concerned but this is a pinball machine. The colors they chose are awesome and it really pops out. I can't wait to get my game.

Doesn’t feel too good when someone TOHO’s your Chaka does it!
@thechakapakuni
Chaka was a Paku.
From the East side of the Land of the Lost.
He went messin around inside that weather pylon.
He was willing to pay the price,
But he couldn't count the cost.
Chaka was a Paku....
I will fight
Quoted from Concretehardt:Doesn’t feel too good when someone TOHO’s your Chaka does it!
That’s right, ultimate sadge. I’m still punching the air after they did me wrong like that!

I don’t have any skin in the game as I’m not even a fan of godzilla but a 5 for the art? Really? A 5? Do you remember the photoshop garbage we used to get from Stern in the past. Now that is a 5.
I talked to a friend this morning that said he has a Godzilla LE he will be selling NIB. If anyone is looking, PM me and I can provide you with his contact info.
Before you start hopping on me or giving me a thumbs down, this isn't me flipping or selling. I already an buying an LE elsewhere. Just offered to help a friend.

Maybe 5 is a little harsh but it’s not a 10 IMO.
And my criticism is not for the art itself. Take this ZY art package by itself and it’s great. Like I said if this pin was based on 90’s Godzilla or something not based on the original Godzilla version, then it’s fantastic. Lots of detail, color, etc and stands out on its own. But since it is based on this very specific version I’m having a hard time getting past how far off the color pallet and tone are. That’s my opinion. LE sold out so that tells you people disagree with my opinion and are fine with it. While I would have liked something closer to the NFT art Topps did, which was very accurate IMO, I would have been fine if they decided to do something different which complimented. The art style & tone of this picture below IMO would have been a 10 in my book. Again, it’s all subjective. You have your opinion and I have mine. I will enjoy playing this on location regardless

Exactly! It wasn't that long ago people were bitching about the photoshopped art on Stern games and how they wanted "Hand drawn art" like B/W... well that's all we've been getting lately (JP, DP, TMNT, and now Godzilla) and people still complain.

Well then... if anyone from Stern is reading this. I appreciate the fantastic looking hand drawn art -- Zombie Yeti killed it!
With the Magna-Grab feature in the Godzilla pins, will it be best to use carbon steel balls? If so, what do you folks recommend?
Quoted from Hayfarmer:Ball baron
Thanks Hayfarmer, I see the POLARIS carbon steel pinballs there.

I went ahead and made the ring kit for Godzilla Pro on Titan Pinball's website since Stern released the manual. I don't see any differences between the rubbers on the Pro and Prem/LE so it should be good for all models.
https://www.titanpinball.com/kits/index.php/view/id/1843
I made it with all Clear rubbers except for the flipper rubbers (green) and shooter tip (green), but feel free to customize as you wish. I felt that Clear rubbers wouldn't clash with all of ZY's beautiful/colorful artwork.
This game looks like good clean pure pinball fun! A campy title nothing too serious, flowing shots that go up down all around, innovative mechs, awesome art, sizzling sound effects and a jamming soundtrack!
Now can someone please clarify is that a New York or a Jersey accent of that one callout voice that has to pleeeeaase be a filler voice until they can replace it with about anything else!?!?!
Quoted from sushko:Just incase Stern makes a crappie topper I got this guy. I will make my own topper.
[quoted image]
That’s awesome!
I’d like a topper where it mimics that flying drop kick!!!
Quoted from Concretehardt:I’m guessing we should see pictures of the LE’s on the line anytime now.
Wish I knew if they were using the same powder coat color on the LE as they did for Mando.
Quoted from K9Marshal:Wish I knew if they were using the same powder coat color on the LE as they did for Mando.
They said no. Godzilla is metallic silver and lighter than Mando. I think it's going to be the same powder that they used on Metallica LE.
Quoted from gambit3113:Wait, you think it looks like Reiwa era Godzilla? So it looks like Shin Godzilla? Have you ever seen Shin Godzilla?

Any recollection of the name of that on Prismatic site?

Quoted from gamera9:I think you mean the Raymond Burr sound alike? It is not going anywhere. It sounds like the first movie. Whoever did it, did a great job.
No, he is talking about another voice that has one or two callouts heard on the stream, separate from the main voice. It is done with a major New York or similar accent, or a crappy impression of one anyway.
My guess is it's an extra character for when the location of a battle is in New York. Similar to how Attack From Mars has some quotes unique to each country, and thus probably not a placeholder...
Anyone seen the Stern banners for Godzilla yet?
Any idea of what tens accessories will be.. Topper, Shooter rod etc..

Shooter rod is the Mothra Egg. No idea what the topper or banner is yet.

Do any other shooter rods come with art on the base plate like this? That looks great and I hadn't noticed it before.
Quoted from gamera9:I think you mean the Raymond Burr sound alike? It is not going anywhere. It sounds like the first movie. Whoever did it, did a great job.
Haha no not at all man, I know Raymond, I’m talking about the 1 callout voice you’ll hear at various points throughout the stream that does not belong at all…It’s like tossing in some over-exaggerated Brooklyn accent in the middle of everything that sticks out like a sore thumb.
Would sound more fitting to have a Japanese person say that guys callouts in English.
Anyway this game looks Amazing!
Quoted from Smack:Do any other shooter rods come with art on the base plate like this? That looks great and I hadn't noticed it before.
This is the only one that I know of that has the art on the base plate. And I agree, it does look great. Hopefully Stern does it for all of their machines going forward.
Got the notification for my pro shipping! If anyone is in or near Rhode Island it’ll be set up and ready to rip at Pizza J in Providence
Quoted from CashMoney:I'm really digging the side blades on this one. Normally i'm a mirror blade guy, but I'm getting these for for sure.

Those blades come with the LE and I don't think you can get them separately.

According to the TWIP article, they can be purchased separately (scroll down to “accessories”):

Yeah, the one you initially posted should be the standard accessory. The exclusive one think it's just the backdrop that's different

You are totally right, the LE blades are orange and purple and these are the official purple stern blades. My bad.

I might be the minority but I like the choice stern made for the powder. I recently saw Metallica LE and it looks great in person. For a game that is so colorful, it’s a great compliment to tame it just a bit while still looking good and tying in with mech. Even more color on the powder for me would be over the top color (as we’re basically there as is!)

I think it will look good but I was hoping they were going to start having unique side rails for the LEs. I love the rails Mando le with it cut like the rifle. Unfortunately, they went back to the standard rails. It was always those and lollipop ones that I’ve owned except on Star Trek LE
