I'm going to be buying a NIB Stern in the next couple of months, and I'd be very interested if I like what they come up with.

I'd rather settle for a premium after seeing how it played than take a chance on an LE sight unseen.
Quoted from brettybluevein:The game will be beautiful....trust me
Probably, but looks aren't everything in a longer relationship. Is it fun? Time will tell.
GB is one of those themes that has really struck a nerve with me. Add in Zombie Yeti artwork and Stern has my full attention. I find myself trying to put some control on my hopes for this pin. Then I tell myself: "Stern wouldn't waste such a great theme on a poor code and shot layout, would they?" Well, hopefully Stern will end the suspense soon. If done well, this will be huge for Stern.
Do we know the team members that worked on GB?
Quoted from ahdelarge:I thought this before the Avengers was released. "This will be so awesome. LCD display, video clips from the movie, great code and everything will be awesome!"
Exactly what I'm afraid of. Hopefully this one will be a winner!
Quoted from Mike_J:I'm hoping they clean up the images of the actors on the back glass/translite.
The rest looks terrific and I've already decided on a Premium since I'm not crazy about a Slimer LE.
I like the Slimer with the green hardware. Very different. Of course, all we've seen is a concept drawing. I'm looking forward to seeing the final LE version.
Quoted from Ranhorton:Stern just posted a very suspicious picture on Facebook. I smell a sneak peek in the works!
I hope you're right. Who ya gonna call?
Quoted from PinJer:Tomorrow can not come soon enough.
PinJer, I hope you are right! I really want this one to be a winner. I'm jumping on an LE if it is a good one.
If they put out a great LE with a monochrome DMD, I'm still in. Then I'll upgrade to a color DMD once available.
Yep, it is a prescription for buyer's remorse if we buy other pins before we even get a look at the official Stern GB release info and images. Come on Gary, do it Wednesday morning!
Quoted from frolic:And this is exactly why these leaks were NOT from Stern as some sort of marketing. They have way more to lose not selling machines than disrupting Hobbit or RZ. They've got games for sale TODAY and would like to sell those to you very much.
I agree 100%. This could not have been the marketing plan. Even if SM VE is a low volume pin, it seems they are competing with themselves. Had to be a leak.
Quoted from Rockytop:It looks like Stern is doing a live broadcast of SMVE on the line right now, so that answers the when is production starting question.
https://www.facebook.com/sternpinball/videos/vb.136972659243/10153934019999244/?type=2&theater¬if_t=live_video
Also, at the beginning of the video, the playfields are shown and each has a sticker on the edge showing xxx of 410. So it looks like there are 410 VEs in this run.
Quoted from kpg:I really doubt the GB announcement is coming any time soon after seeing their live stream of SMVE. They probably will be making enough to have some inventory while that game is on the line, so they want to sell as many as possible. Im sure any imminent GB announcement would create some cancellations of SMVE and other games they are making- so when they are wrapping production and have shipped most of their inventory is probably when they will spark up the promotion engines again for GB. Just too many potential conflicts right now I think.
Maybe. Here's my opinion based on nothing but conjecture. I think that kpg is right about what Stern planned. I think that the leaks we have all seen are real leaks and not part of the Stern marketing plan for this pin. Those leaks will cause Stern to accelerate their reveal timeline and right now they are busy getting the flyers and website stuff together quickly so they can make the most of this buzz. I think they are logging some overtime hours now to move the reveal up to some time by the end of the month or so. Just a theory based on no facts!
Quoted from frolic:You don't think if you asked Gary Stern what would he rather sell someone, TWD today or GB tomorrow he would say TWD today? I know I would.
Cash flowing into the till sooner - a good thing for any business.
Stern usually throws out some obscure hints in the days before an announcement. Has anyone picked up on any? Maybe they will forego the hints this time due to all the leaks.
On drain at end of long ball: Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.
On fast drain: This man has no dick.
Quoted from Whysnow:"debut at expo" I assume means at TPF?
I hope so! I'll be there.
Quoted from flynnibus:Clearly a breakdown in communication with replay. Or replay made a change without thinking about it. Wonder if stern is just way late on their reveal.
That's what I was thinking. I bet this was scheduled to be rolled out by all parties on March 1st. That date slipped at Stern, but the magazine was already printed and was issued March 1 on schedule. Just a theory. If true, someone at Stern should have realized this and issued the press release March 1 - even if games won't be ready till much later. This is the weirdest rollout ever, coming in dribs and drabs.
Quoted from jorge5240:Now that this official can everyone post all the pics or info they have?
PM a Moderator and see.
Quoted from PACMAN:Uh, am i missing something here? Shipping mid-March, 13 days from now. Don't they need to advertise, sell and build some before they ship them?
A March 1 announcement was likely the original plan when the copy was written for the magazine. Rumor has it that supplier problems have slowed down production at Stern, which may indeed be the reason everything is happening later than planned.
Quoted from SideTrackTap:The Pro cab art, if this is it, is absolutely, in my opinion, AWESOME. Knowing nothing at this point, I'd buy the Pro simply based on the cab art. (see you on the others side guys, because I'm sure I'll get an eject for this)
C
I really like the ECTO-1 cabinet art, but I'd rather have the Slimer LE with the full featured playfield. I may be in the minority, but I like the green body hardware better.
Quoted from delt31:Were these really the GOT costs upon release?
September 2015 / Game of Thrones / Pro / $5995
September 2015 / Game of Thrones / Premium / $7595
September 2015 / Game of Thrones / LE / $8795
I ask b/c I see 2 or 3 premiums being sold here from guys that look brand new and they're 6100-6600. That's almost 1k right off the top and it's only 6 months only. Is that typical for these games to lose that much value this early and if so, I might hold off and a "used" one....
That is MSRP, not street price.
Quoted from golfingdad1:My distributer confirmed all LEs aloted to them have been sold !
There are still LEs available. I found one this morning.
Quoted from dgoett:who knows how many they are making.
They are making 500 GB LEs.
Quoted from Chambahz:If you pay in full before the announcement takes place, what message does that send to Stern?
Once preordered pins are officially released and photos are published, buyers typically have 48 hours to change their mind and get a refund. So really, you are just holding a spot in line until you see the release materials.
I'm so pleased that this great theme was entrusted to Trudeau, Sullivan and Zombie Yeti. I'm hoping that Stern has another winning team that nails it on all three fronts. I think Stern will sell a lot of these.
Quoted from jonesjb:I hope the peppers ghost effect has multiple different ghosts from the movies you need to catch in modes, as opposed to just Slimer.
Heck, I'll take any amount (even one) in the way of see-through ghosts - hope there is indeed a Pepper's Effect. Cool stuff!
Quoted from VegasMike:I asked a distributor about a pro. They mentioned that there is a shaker motor...
That is surprising given recent releases. It may be that the distributor is adding it to sweeten the deal.
Call around to all the usual suspects on Monday morning. The LEs were still available Saturday morning. I know - I put my deposit on one.
Quoted from DCFAN:Just think how much shock there would be if the playfield ended up being photoshopped art.
Quoted from Guinnesstime:Are the any LE production dates?
I'm hearing late April or early May for the LE.
Quoted from DHG:I've looked at all the pictures posted here... where is the LCD screen? Do we have to supply our own?
The image for the ecto-goggles is generated on a small LCD above the clear disc where the ghosts appear.
Quoted from Crater:Well I just had to do it... I pre-ordered a premium. I'll just quit going out for lunch
...and dinner
...and drinks
...and maybe try driving for Uber on the weekends
I'll make it work.
Don't go overboard. No food-I get it. But,
NO DRINKS?!
Quoted from docquest:the witch magnet in WOZ. Anyone one with either of those games know if they have wear issues over time?
My WOZ is perfect after two years. No witch magnet wear at all.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Would you pay $300-$500 to add this?
Yes! I only hope that the "crossed streams" feature was dropped to keep the BOM cost down and not that it was dropped because it proved impractical to execute.
Quoted from swinks:for the sake of the premium and le guys I just hope the magnets don't cause some new playfield wear sort like the Shadow or Goldeneye with the magnet hidden under a painted surface.
I think the playfield burn comes from holding a ball in position more than it does from slinging the ball away. Maybe some of our tech guys can chime in on this for a more expert opinion.
Quoted from NPO:Ok...so can someone point to a Stern representative stating any of these? Sounds like a bunch of "well, the crystal ball told me" guesses.
My distributor told me that for the LE, Stern is saying late April and he thought maybe early May. I'm very happy with that timeline.
Quoted from pinballwil:No slingshot coils?.
No coils on the LE or Premium; they use magnets. The Pro does not have magnets and uses coils.
In the podcast Trudeau said the magnet sling could capture a ball then drop it to the flipper. He hinted that there would be sound effects accompanying the functioning of the slings.
Quoted from Mando:In listening to the seminar it sounds like slimer on their will only go left and right and not also up and down?
On the proud and down. Prem/LE both horizontal and vertical.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Can't beat the 4K remastered BluRay pack for both films. Still 1080P but sourced from a 4K remastered version of the film. Both films look far better then the previous Blu Ray releases.

Thanks Panzer, I clicked on it and ordered immediately!
As a "proof of concept" prototype, I think the topper shows promise. I hope they succeed in polishing the appearance and functionality. Could be quite cool.
Quoted from thunderking50:We will need some longer flipper mod ?
AKA the "Viagra mod".
They are making 50 of them. Why not get a dozen and stage them around the house in unexpected places? See what stuff your house guests are made of.
Quoted from Guinnesstime:I'd like it similar to "Choose Wisely" in IJ. That at least has skill.
I seem to remember posts that Stern was having trouble with their playfield supplier keeping up with the increased demand. Then there were posts that Stern was considering bringing playfield production in house.
Is there any validity to either of these playfield supply issues?
I like what I see so far with the magnetic slings. This was a simple manual test to demonstrate that they exist and that development continues. I'm looking forward to seeing them in real gameplay. I think they will be a great addition to the Premium/LE games.
Near the end of the video there are some great shots of the Ecto-Goggles in action. They look amazing!
Quoted from kpg:Took your advice, how does it look?
It ties the whole room together!
Quoted from txstargazer3:It ties the whole room together!
Sorry, I typed too slowly.
Quoted from Rockytop:I was in NY this weekend. This is 55 Central Park West
Glad to see they got it repaired and all the marshmallow cleaned up.
I think Stern is very aware of the high sales of GB and they know that supporting future software updates on this title will be critical to their reputation. I think they see the pecentage in dedicating programming hours to such a strong selling pin. This code isn't likely to be "orphaned". Supporting GB is a good investment and a smart business decision.
Quoted from Flato:Ghostbusters has hardly been released yet one wave of pros then crickets for weeks, i bet we see a code update this week and some pins start shipping.
It would be great to see the new code go out with the LEs this week!
Now we all know that Stern won't be cranking out 54 or 55 Ghostbuster LEs a day, so how long do you think the LE run will take to complete?
Thank you so much Namsan! Those are the absolute best videos I have seen of GB. Your photos look great too! I'm hoping to have my GB LE here in a couple weeks and you just made the wait even harder!
Quoted from jar155:I played one that had been unboxed recently and found it to be really tough, but after it settled, I thought that IM and TWD were noticeably harder. I don't think anything I've ever played was as difficult as my Iron Man right when I took it out of the box. AC/DC out of the box had really short ball times too, with TONS of airballs.
I'm not saying you're wrong, it might be a little frustrating on route, but I don't think it's as hard as IM or TWD.
That's encouraging to hear! Patiently waiting for my LE.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Dont forget a Glare Eliminator from Comet, and get rid of the display reflection!
For me, and I am now just a customer it seems to sharpen the image on a Spike Display...
But I also have old eyes!
Does get rid of the reflection nicely!

I've never played a game with one of these on it before. Does it change the brightness of the DMD? Anyone have any feedback on this? It seems like a great improvement for a very reasonable price.

Thanks for the solid advice Art! I just ordered one for the GB LE I have on order.
Quoted from monsterbaldy:Have any premiums shipped yet?
Nope; LEs continue to trickle out.
I cancelled my order on Friday - not worth the risk. I ordered a Full Throttle LE instead. Reserved an Alien conversion kit too.
Quoted from kpg:He is out of his mind. I decided to haul mine home in a different, more simple method.
Haulin' ass!
