Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:

Low 6's was the norm. Now mid 6's. Inevitable I guess. Not trying to be a downer. I do hope that we get a lot of game and features with GB for what seems like yet another $100 uptick. Seems like yesterday Premiums were shipping at $6,200. That price to me feels justifiable. But $6,700 - as someone reported paying in this thread - just feels like a gouge. IMO.

Feels like economics.

Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:

Anyone that thinks trypophobia is not a real thing is a "nute".

Like the American Psychiatric Association? Regardless there are easy and obvious ways to solve your problem besides cancelling your order. Drama though.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

I would advocate buying a GB, combining with Exposure Therapy and then GB becomes part of the cure as opposed to being the problem. Avoidance strengthens fear.

Actually a really good point. And in this case what better way to associate positivity with the fear than getting to play a kick ass pin everytime you confront it?

You may be on to something here. Bring on the spider, snakes, and honeycomb translights!

Am I wrong to have thought the LE and Premium still have traditional slings with additional magnets? It's not just magnets is it?

#6665 8 years ago
Quoted from swinks:

from the interview on coast to coast sounds like magnets only as Jody said their was just a switch under the slingshot plastic. But they can get some interesting effects ball comes in hit the sling activates the switch and ball bounces out and then they can control the ball to fire off in different directions even directly back at the same sling that the switch was activated - giving you the ghost effect.
for the sake of the premium and le guys I just hope the magnets don't cause some new playfield wear sort like the Shadow or Goldeneye with the magnet hidden under a painted surface.

To me this seems like a huge detail. I'm not sure how much I would like unpredictable behavior of the slings 100% of the time.

Quoted from Propaganda:

Don't worry about the haunted magnetic slings. They are "haunted" or "ghosts" says Stern.
Sure it fits the theme, but really think about the implications to "normal" pinball gameplay. For example, would you want this on your other games? Would you want this on ACDC? Would you want this on Tron? What about LOTR? How will this effect multiball? Seems like a really bad idea. I hope it works out, but this is guilty of WTF until proven otherwise. These are working all the time. This is not a mode. This is not on the upper section of the play field. This is the SLINGS. This is in the "backbone" of what a pinball game is. This is the danger area that bangs balls into the out lanes and directly above the flippers where you play the game!

Agreed. I'm surprised it's not being discussed more actually. This could be a huge make or break. Even if well implemented, if the behavior is much different than traditional slings will people react positively?

Is there a regular jackpot in the game?

Quoted from Mando:

Assuming its random, I think this video mode is great. Has a huge risk reward and frankly most of the "video game" video modes can be lame.

Going off the Deadflip stream no way was it random. They were running off way too many in a row each time using the bacon star logic. Had to be more of a rock paper scissors set up.
