To all of you considering it, what is really the deciding factor for you between the Prem/LE and the Pro (besides cost of course). For me, I'm very interested to see how the hologram works. If it is a dud and doesn't live up to the expectations (ala "galaxy light show" on STLE/Prem), I will be partial to the pro. Obviously it's all speculation at this point until more pictures and videos get released, but I am just trying to plan ahead. I either keep one of my games and buy the pro, or sell one of them and splurge for the Prem.
Decisions Decisions....
If anyone has an LE on order that has to bow-out, I would love to take it over. Was too slow on the draw on this one. Send me a message if so!
Again, if anyone is dropping out of their LE purchase after seeing the stream last night, please let me know! I would love to own one
Quoted from Leachdude:Any speculation on what the proton beams will do? Maybe a video mode don't cross the stream while collection ghosts on the playfield?
Or maybe during gameplay they move depending on shots and you are not to cross them for some sort of bonus?
Now with it being a possible add-on maybe they just do nothing for gameplay.
I don't think they will interact that way with gameplay. Most likely just a cosmetic add-on using EL wire that will pulse or turn on/off with the game modes.
Quoted from lllvjr:Proton beams in video show there's a actual mech and motor to make them move... Not staionary at all
Do you think they kept the mechs/motor in the build if the protons won't be part of the production build? Seems like it was too expensive to implement so they scratched it and kept the plugs in the playfield for something more simple. Would seem odd for them to put in un-utilized mechs all for the possibility of an accessory
Quoted from lllvjr:It was quoted today by the designer that they would probably be offered later on as a mod. Someone said that it was just some cheap wire stationary. It's not, in the release video there's a giant bracket underneath with a motor and mech that makes it look at they move.. I'm sure it will be a expensive factory mod
I was just saying that the cheap wire stationary is what could become of them scrapping the motorized one in the production build. If you are saying the mod will come with the mechs, that might make sense - I am just saying it would be unlikely for them to keep the bracket/motors under the playfield for the possibility of a prem/LE owner to buy the aftermarket mod. I was never questioning what the protons would be or what they were designed to be. As a potential prem buyer, I hope they keep whatever they showed.
Quoted from Captain_Kirk:The original CAD drawings that contained the proton beams also contained an action button on the lockdown bar.
It is quite possible that the action button was used with the mechanical aspect of the proton beams.
Now that the action button is gone, any accessory might just be stationary and cosmetic.
Sad I know this game is packed with more features than most to be excited about, but any neat idea nixed right before production, especially something with so much potential is really a bummer. I wish I never knew that was planned
Quoted from fuseholder:Just played @ Logan. Game is super fun. It looks phenomenal in person.

I must have been there when you were there. I dragged my wife there and we played a ton of games on GB (you might have asked if she was still playing while I was grabbing drinks at the bar - I apologize!) before trying Got Prem & some others. I really enjoyed Ghost Busters. The clear/finish on the one at Logan's was really thin, or so it seemed compared to other recent Sterns. The shots were tight but I wasn't bricking as much as I thought I would be. That left ramp is super tight, but again, both my wife had a great time and didn't think it was too difficult. We are both pretty bad players too.
On another note - Logan's is awesome. All games play great and they have one fantastic selection (both in games & beer). What an awesome place.
