We're less than 45 days away from another Southern-Fried Gaming Expo (SFGE) in Atlanta, GA! Join us July 28-30 for our 10th annual event full of family-friendly fun at the Cobb Galleria Centre and Renaissance Waverly Hotel with hundreds of pinball and arcade games on free play. This year is even bigger and better than ever and we've doubled the size of our exhibit hall. As always, we have a TON of great pinball content planned for the weekend including:

    - Representation from major pinball companies including Jersey Jack, Multimorphic, Spooky, and Stern
    - Tons of great vendors that include pinball-focused dealers like The Pinball Dudes, Project Pinball, East Tennessee Pinball, Super Skill Shot Shooters, Rocket City Pinball, Paradise Distribution of Wyoming, and Trident Pinball.
    - Sunday flea market filled with great deals
    - A slew of competitive pinball tournaments we just posted here: https://gameatl.com/tournaments/.
    - and so much more! Honestly, one of the BEST things about SFGE is the amount and variety of stuff we offer in addition to pinball: tabletop gaming, wrestling, live music, panels, vintage computer festival, hot pepper-eating contest, movies, and more. Your weekend will be absolutely packed with fun!

If you're looking for the biggest and best show in the Southeast, this is it! If you're coming to the show, be sure to sound off below! Check out our hype video below and I hope to see you there! https://www.GameATL.com

You know all those brand new pinball machines available to play at SFGE? Most of those are "show games" that are sold to collectors like yourself at a discount. Our friends at Classic Game Rooms are offering some pretty sweet discounts on a large number of brand new pinball machines--all you have to do is let folks play them at SFGE (and earn SFGE perks like free memberships along the way).

Take a look at a list of available games and call Jason Grindle at (470) 444-1395 or email at [email protected] for more details to save hundreds of dollars off of your new title AND no shipping charge!

Gonna be bringing a fairly rare Stern Split Second Widebody for the tournament. It has some playfield wear that has been mylared to prevent further wear. I shopped it out with comet LEDs, new titan rubbers, rebuilt driver board, new rectifier board, new lamp board, repinned connectors and a good cleaning top and bottom. Will be selling it. PM me for more info. Scott

Saturday afternoon bump. Less than a week to go! Hoping Venom is there, as well as Pulp Fiction, Scooby Doo. And am curious whether Galactic Tank Force and Queen will be there and are as uninteresting to me as I expect them to be. Also excited for more time on Legends of Valhalla.

Probably not my kind of game to own, but I want to play it.

I was wondering if anybody can help answer a question. Looks like sfge will have a parking cluster possibly with the braves games on the expo weekend. Game bringers were allowed to park on the lower level of the parking deck last year. Wondering if this is available this year. I was looking at the map but not quite sure where we are parking yet. Usually we get load in and load out emails but I have not received this yet.
The reason I'm asking is I may pick a machine up on the way to the expo and don't want it to sit in a enclosed trailer all weekend in the sun. If anyone has any info please reach out if you can. I may have to change my pick up day maybe. Thanks

We're just days away from the 10th annual Southern-Fried Gaming Expo--who's excited? We've got some hot-off-the-presses news to share!

Let there be carnage at #SFGE2023! We are thrilled to host VENOM, the newest game from Stern Pinball this weekend at the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo in Atlanta, GA. We'll have 10 copies of the pinball machine on hand for guests to battle the symbiote and earn a high score. Also on hand will be game designers Brian Eddy and Dwight Sullivan on Saturday @ 7PM for a seminar discussing their work on this amazing title.

Thanks to Stern distributors Marco Specialties and Classic Game Rooms for bringing the newest Stern titles to the show. Reach out to Jason at Classic Game Rooms at (470)444-1395 for the list of new titles available for purchase at a big discount for exhibited show games!

SFGE has exclusive use of the 1800 self parking spaces at the Cobb Galleria. Parking costs $10 per day. Read more about parking on our website here:
    https://gameatl.com/parking/

Load-in/Load-out emails should be out now. *MOST* game bringers with trailers should be provided comp access to a special covered deck for SFGE.

Is the lot being monitored this year? About 50 cars were broken into last year and the hotel couldn’t have cared less.

We are cognizant of the incident that occurred last year, where approximately 20 cars were broken into. We have already conducted meetings with both the hotel and convention center management to raise their awareness about the situation. At present, there is no indication that the incident was connected to our event. Nonetheless, both venues will remain vigilant and exercise increased caution on their premises. To further enhance security, our nighttime SFGE security team will be conducting regular patrols outside the venues.

Going for the first time ever this year... for those that have been in the past, are there many games for sale at this event? Wondering if I should come strapped with some cash.

    #28 1 year ago

Go find the custom/homebrew section of SFGE. Some great games are slated to be there: Mindcrime (show debut!), Spaceballs, League and/or Beavis and Butthead and one more that escapes me.

You'll see several stages of custom game building from "Done" to late-stage-whitewood.

Always lots of games for sale... and watch the prices drop as the days go by!

I am missing the show for the first time in many years this weekend... stupidly scheduled a road trip for a concert that my wife really wants to see in Kentucky.

So how do people usually require payment? Everything up front and cash on glass? Take a deposit and pay balance later when you pick it up? First time going to one of these things.

What happened, did you miss the Taylor Swift concert here in ATL?

All the machines will have signs on them, some of them will say for sale with a phone #.

Everyone has different payment requirements, take cash if you are worried about it. You just need to be prepared to take the machine home on Sunday after the show.

No, there's lots of great deals on Sunday, they just aren't on good machines

    Hahaha!

This is some 80's hair band thing that my wife really wanted to go to... the bad part is that of the 4 bands that are there, the one she wanted to see most had to cancel due to a medical issue. At the time I got the tickets I didn't even realize it was a conflict with SFGE...

We were there for a few hours today. Short recap.
-Final Resistance was super cool and has a liquify your brain sound system and soundtrack. This was the consensus favorite for us.
-Piles of new games thanks to Classic Gamerooms and Marco
-Much bigger free play area than last year, still incredibly loud
-Some real mint games out there to play including a Skateball and Night Rider
    -Venom was pretty cool
-I might like Dr No more each time I play
-Wish spooky would have brought a TNA so I’d have an excuse to buy one
-Galactic Tank Force is like putting a kid in front of a Coke Freestyle machine. Lots of different stuff, but the end result isn’t the most enjoyable.

    #47 1 year ago

I will be delivering a pin tomorrow to the show. I have a Maiden Premium with 22 plays that can also be delivered if we have a buyer.

    #48 1 year ago

I went today (Saturday) for 5+ hours and left pretty underwhelmed. Fewer top tier SS games to play than in prior years. Of the ipdb top 10, only TZ and TAF were there.

Stern, Classic Game Rooms, and Marco provided a well stocked new games area with lots of Venom, Godzilla, Bond, Mando and Foo. The GTF was being played early but was out of service for most of the day. Got to play Venom, Final Resistance and Scooby Doo for the first time. My official ranking is
    1. Venom
    2. Final Resistance
    3. Scooby Doo

Sorry to see that CGC was a no show. I would have liked to play Pulp Fiction.

    #49 1 year ago

Rocket City Pinball is at the show, stop by and check out my mods and art. Online photos never look the same as real life, so if you've ever been on the fence about a cool 3D start button for your game, or what an amazing photo looks like printed on metal, come see them with your own eyes!
    -Andy
