Quoted from Ferret:

Dang it, how did you hear that our next theme is Squirrels?! (No offense to Miss Morgan from Wisconsin...)
Scorbit support should eventually come along, but expect it to be several months.
And you're right that Car Chaos can get very juicy if you get there. What do you (anyone) think -- a little too juicy? Certainly seems to be the most common cause of scores really blowing up. It's intended to be valuable, but... maybe... it's a little too valuable.

Haven’t started Car Chaos yet. High score is 3.3B in about 30 plays. Older code installed. Stacked Victory Lap MB with Loop Crash MB. High RPMs and started Turbo for double scoring. Also started RLM scoring a Super.

So many strategies and risk/reward in learning Hot Wheels, very cool! In fact, in another game I had all Hero Cars except one. Score was 770M even though I “accomplished” more. Hot Wheels Legend, here I come!

3.5B, I stand corrected. Relatively short game time.

Is this the default record for number of cars collected?

Thanks for the quick reply!

That’s what I figured, picked up the game recently from the original owner.

Any way to reset it?

#3726 1 year ago
Quoted from Ferret:

No way to reset that one high score record individually. To reset all high scores to defaults, visit the service menu, Utilities > Clear High Scores.
Thanks!

Appreciate your help!

But, then there goes the 3.5B game.

Not sure if resetting the Cars Collected champ is worth losing all the high scores and records.

Quoted from Mr_Outlane:

That happened on mine!

Quoted from ita47:

This happened on mine as well. I also had an issue with the RPM targets being gapped too close when I got it. I finally took all the targets out and regapped them, no problems after that.

Did you guys reset your high scores?

Quoted from Pinballbuyer:

This mod will be done and for sale soon. (Loganpinball.com) it is 90% done. I need to add another brace and paint it, but turn you vuk into a 2 loop return on hot wheels. Stainless steel ramp. I might alter the end run to return, not sure yet. It is a great game, but no loops!

Looks fantastic!!

So while adjusting the flippers on my Hot Wheels, I noticed the installed return springs are larger and stiffer than the replacements that come with the flipper kit pictured. This is the recommended flipper kit so I’m curious about the difference and will try the smaller one to see how it affects flipper play.

Quoted from Ballderdash:

That doesn’t seem right. Did they send you the wrong product?

The return springs in the kit are the same as WPC-95 era along with the other parts. AP installed larger return springs clearly.

Quoted from rosh:

You want a spring that is just strong enough to return the flipper back quickly. A spring that is too strong will require a higher coil setting and heat up the coils faster. I recall arguing with Balcer about springs but don’t remember the details.
I suggest putting one on the left and the other on the right and see which you like better.

Appreciate the info! Will definitely try the smaller return spring and see how it affects the flipper feel.

New high score, maybe it’s the new flipper return spring.

Also new monkey battle high score.

Who has beaten 2:10 in the race?

Hot Wheels is a fun and challenging pin. Beautiful as well.

Quoted from RipleYYY:

some top ranked players were under the minute
and yes, HW is another underated pin, surelly even more here in europe
btw i'm out of the club, mine just left for a new home, with only 1 pin/place in the garage, i need some rotation...

I saw your high scores before, so thinking you finished the game and became a Hot Wheels Legend. 12 or 14 billion? Really good playing. Probably finished the race in under a minute, as well, something to shoot for.

What are you getting to replace it?

#4181 4 months ago
Quoted from RipleYYY:

21B and no, didnt succeed to beat the minute, i'm good but not as top IFPA players (seeing/knowing most the west european players there, i would set myself top 100-200)
the next one (tomorrow ?) should be Rush, i'm back to 1 month home location pins, better way to learn them

21B is an amazing score. I’ve achieved 4/5 hero cars a couple of times in maybe 50 plays. Hot Wheels has so many objectives and ways to progress. I agree that’s it’s very underrated.

I changed out one of the stock flipper return springs with a WPC style return spring.

The WPC flipper return spring improves the feel of the flippers noticeably IMHO! The “snap” back of the flipper mechanism now is just like the WPC flipper action.

The resulting feel is “softer” and better control, especially on drop catches. I’m going to change the other flipper return spring and lower the coil power a couple of notches as it seems flipper needs less power on initial flip due to less spring tension.

Picture of return springs for reference, can’t post video.
