I don’t post much, but wanted to say I’ve joined the Hot Wheels club. If you’re looking for a great distributor, Zach Meny @ Flip-N-Out Pinball is your man!
Now to get this set up...

Picked up a hot wheels loop to use as a topper.

Connecting an external sub really gets it thumping, and that intro to red line mania is awesome!

Used a hot wheels car to make a shooter rod.

Quoted from Mr_Outlane:

LOL!
Cool!
Did you drill and thread the car? Or epoxy? I might do this too!

Drilled slightly smaller than the rod, applied epoxy, and pressed in. I had a spare rod laying around that was the same size.

#2313 3 years ago
Quoted from Mr_Outlane:

How does that feel in your hand?

Feels about the same as the original and spins freely so you can position it as you like.

I know there’s a tire stack you can buy but I enjoy making my own mods if I can. I think it turned out pretty good. The tires laying flat in the front are rubber from a model car kit. The rest are plastic ones I bought on line in a pack of 20 pretty cheap. The first picture is before it was complete to show what it looks like from above.

Quoted from EricHadley:

I am having a weird issue. I collect WAY to many cars. Hundreds. like 450 in one game. I was thinking I have a leaf switch that needs adjusting, but I did a bunch of vibration testing and didn't find any touchy switches. Any thoughts? What is the requirement to collect a car anyways? Thx

I had this problem also. One of my car targets was mounted too close to the opening so when installed the front was pressing against the playfield, and the gap was too close. When removed it looked just fine. Came from the factory this way. I didn’t want to re-drill the mounting holes because they would be too close to the existing ones. I drilled the holes in the switch mounting plate larger to allow me to adjust the switch before tightening it down. Working fine now. Vibration tests didn’t help me either. I found it by lightly touching the top of each target until I found one that was super sensitive.

I like it.

Had my best game tonight, over 5.1B, finished all epic modes, 4th gear, 4 cars collected, battled Draven but didn’t beat him. 32 minute game, whew!

#2388 3 years ago
Quoted from pinchamp:

Now that was a BLAST!! So I guess that’s it for now until the code develops? Or is there something when you get to 5th gear? I think that’s the only thing I haven’t done.
There is so much potential for this games code I really hope this is just the start...
[quoted image]

Now that’s a hell of a game!

Playing a game last night and the display went blank and all sound stopped. Everything on the playfield still worked as if nothing happen just no display or sound. Rebooted and everything was fine. If it happens again I’ll download the logs at next boot up.

#2554 3 years ago

I noticed tonight that my EPIC start and EPIC collect stand up targets, in addition to starting the EPIC modes, are awarding the lane letters like the rollover switches in the lanes do. I swear it didn’t use to do that, and I’m wondering if it’s related to the audio video crash I had the other day.
Is this normal and I just never noticed it before???
Running latest code and haven’t noticed anything else unusual. I’m getting kinda old so maybe I’m losing my mind.

#2558 3 years ago
Quoted from Ferret:

If Epic isn't running and Epic Start isn't lit, the Epic Start target has always spotted an E-P-I-C letter. Just makes it a little more likely that players will get some Epic features started.

Damn, I am losing my mind
Thank you!

After doing the pop bumper tire mod I felt they needed to have some light. I only had white leds on hand but I think they look pretty good.

The game itself has great sound, but you’re gonna want that sub for Red Line Mania!

#2631 3 years ago
Quoted from Vegas9:

For any American Pinball owners of Hot Wheels, Houdini or Oktoberfest that have a moment, we’re looking to analyze the gameplay audits from the collective players base out there to see the frequency of how often various features are started. If you’re interested in helping, please shoot an email of the audits from your game to [email protected]
If you happen to be an IFPA ranked player, please send your player ID number as well in the email.
To copy game logs and audits (Requires: A FAT 32 formatted USB 2.0 drive):
- Open the coin door and locate the provided USB extension cable on the right-hand side of the coin door below the flipper switch.
- Insert the USB drive into the USB extension cable.
- If power is turned off, turn on.
- Wait for the completion screen on the monitor and remove the USB drive.
- Power cycle the game.

You could also have more than one race “track”. Right now we hit the shots in a certain order to move up in the race and try to get the best time. The next “track” would be hitting the shots in a different order. I know they’re all numbered but perhaps have the shot you need to hit flash green while all other shots are steady red or something like that.

I am happy to say I am a proud owner of a Hot Wheels. Thanks to Zach Meny for having 1 left in stock from Flip-N-Out Pinball. I should have it delivered in a week! So excited to join this club. The more I do research the more I see people loving this game. Now I get to experience the fun and excitement owning and playing this game. Thanks for all your advice and feedback before making the decision to purchase my first NIB. All that is left is buying the thicker foam and a shaker motor. Then I am all set! Knocker and Magic glass will be later down the road.

Great game and you picked a great distributor. Zach is top notch; always a smooth transaction and easy to work with. I bought my HW and EHOH from him.

Nice! I wonder if there is such a thing as a bluetooth audio broadcast dongle? Could do the whole thing wirelessly.
Also how the heck do you nail the skillshot with thay crazy car stuck on the end of your plunger?!?

I was thinking the same thing while installing, shouldn’t this be Bluetooth? The car is actually easy to shoot.
