Those are some purdy colors! And with each new set of pictures it seems like there is something new to discover. I’m wondering what is to the right of the right spinner - could it be that is a drop target? with a lane behind it?

Quoted from gjm:From watching a few Utube videos, it doesn't seem to have: muscle car racing sound, muscle car revving sound, muscle car burning out sound ect or maybe the volume on the pin was turned down...??? Can anyone clarify this? I would think with the theme like this, there would be lots of muscle car sound effects to fit the theme.
I played a lot with hot wheels as a kid. I do not recall them ever making any muscle car sounds.
Quoted from gjm:Ever play "Monopoly" the board game? Ever play "Monopoly" the pinball machine? Funny, I never remember the board game talking to me?
And please read post #167 from American Pinball that answered my question about the audio.
I rarely played Monopoly by myself, generally there were other players present and I’m pretty sure they were sometimes talking so wouldn’t that qualify?
When playing with my Hot wheels I cannot, however, completely rule out that I might have occasionally made brum brum sounds with my mouth so I guess that would justify having engine sounds on a Hot Wheels pin.
Quoted from rosh:So what sounds did you make when you were playing them?
The sounds I remember most are those of the cars rolling down an orange track - sort of white noise kind of sound.
Quoted from Grizlyrig:Put your seatbelt on and enjoy the ride!
nice! I like it... - and no brum brum sounds!
Quoted from JoinTheCirqus:I’ll be a wet blanket. This is a head scratcher of a theme to me. Sure, my 10 year old would be interested, but why would adults purchase this? I guess if it plays great and has awesome code.. but still!
In terms of good theme, one could ask oneself “have I spent more hours all together playing with Hot Wheels or watching Star Wars?”. For me it’s not even close so I guess that would make Hot Wheels a way better theme. Admittedly, I never had any Star Wars toys.
On the other hand, this game seems to be based more on a tv show which I’ve never seen and not the toy, but I have spent some enjoyable hours watching Star Wars films. But I guess what really wrecks it for me is that the Hot Wheels cars in the pin make brum brum noises which my toys never made. Back in my day, Hot Wheels were zero emission vehicles, but this pin seems to want to celebrate vehicles which pollute. What’s up with that?
But I’m looking forward to watching some of the video.
Quoted from HighNoon:You might be overthinking it
but isn’t that the whole raison d’etre of Pinside - to way overthink stuff that’s otherwise not so important ?
If I saw correctly, at the beginning of red line multiball the screen went entirely red - I thought this was a very simple, yet very clever effect. The car on the stick going in a circle sometimes gives the impression that the ball is causing it to spin - I think when hitting the rpm targets for instance - I really like these kind of toys because they increase that visceral feeling of pinball - way more effective than anything on the screen.
