that Tempest is very cool

My HW has been sitting at my distributor since Thursday. They have to get electrical inspection done and approved before I can pick it up.

Sucks.

Sucks.

What kind of electrical inspection? Surely the game is certified for the Canadian versus of U.L.?

#1757 3 years ago

ULC. Stern does it at the factory. AP does not do it yet. So for the inspector to come in its 500$. So my disturbutor usually has them in once a month to do a bunch of things for them.

They have a container coming in next week with more product that needs it also. So im hoping by end of next week I can pick it up.

Just joined the club! My first pinball machine. Excited to start getting better at playing. What settings does everyone use for the flipper coils? I turned mine down a notch to reduce air balls. Haven’t been able to beat any creatures yet.

Just had a great game. I love that the color scheme changes a lot, creating a great atmosphere. This game rocks

What I really would like to be added is the possibility to adjust the volume of music, speech and sound effects. That would even more immerse you into the game.

I updated to the latest code. I noticed on ball 3 both last night and today that you get your bonus at the end. When it shows the score summary after that it removes the bonus? Thought this was strange. I was at 299 million. Bonus pushed it up to like 329. When it went to the summary page it was back to 299. Other than that I’ve had some car switches next activate if they get hit hard enough. Went under the glass and they seem to be working right. Just not activating if it hits super fast.

#1767 3 years ago

ap has the magic glass for sale. this makes a big difference i installed mine the other day and it looks amazing!!

Bug, already fixed for the next update. It's a race condition, so it's a bit of dumb luck whether that happens or not. It's more likely to happen if you double-flip to accelerate the bonus. (What's REALLY dumb is that Oktoberfest had the same bug, fixed it there, but didn't realize it was also in Hot Wheels... sigh.) Sorry about that.

Quoted from fsumassey:

Shouldn't be any magic there, just try adjusting the switch gaps... as usual, you want the gap to be pretty close, but not so close that overall game vibrations generate false switch hits.

We've gotten several requests for this... we're paying attention.

I am thinking of doing it. I think it would look good.

Really Pops !!!

SWEEEEEEEET !

#1775 3 years ago

Mine is getting some heavy plays at work, we are gonna cross 1000 plays next week. The flippers were feeling a little soft so I popped the coil stops off and sure enough the sleeves are dirty and starting to wear a little. Plus one of the coil stops is showing wear.

What are the replacement sleeves and coil stops? Williams, Stern, or...?

Granted.....
That's 1000 plays , any other issues ?
Not bad

#1777 3 years ago

Nope, super happy. Few coil sleeves and stops is reasonable for 1000 plays.

Only small thing we are noticing is balls are getting stuck in a variety of places a lot more often. Up top near the switch above the left pop bumper (slow balls rest up there and are hard to shake out), behind right drop, and a few more spots. I need to play around and see if there is anything I can do to prevent.

Still have not seen any Treasure Hunt cars.
How are they suppose to come up (what is the frequency)?
Even if random I would have assumed I would see at least one by now.
On current code.
Thanks!

they are there. very cool and high scoring!

#1784 3 years ago

So how do you get them?

#1785 3 years ago
Quoted from Cobra:

So how do you get them?

in the real world, for someone to find a treasure hunt car they will go to ALL the places where you can collect cars, going back to a place you have been, is not going to help, in fact, it is basically starting over

It is up to the hunter to know the places they have been so as not to repeat (and start over), there are no indications about this as the primary use of the car target inserts is progress towards lighting 'adv bonus X', well, at least until a treasure hunt car is found and then . . .

Jeeesuss..I will read that again later after a few gin & tonics. Lol

Pass the bottles this way too when you are done, please. Rosh, please be more cryptic, would you?

Hope everyone has a safe, Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving and even if you are not from the US, please stay safe and healthy, too.

I was thinking of buying a house in Hot Wheels City but home - and automobile (!) - insurance prices are astronomical.

did not think it was that cryptic, I'm sure someone will be able to figure out what I said and translate

well with a mad scientist like Draven constantly releasing creatures on the city to destroy it and a sheriff who is in over his head . . .

Okay, since you are bored and here, rosh. Give us some clues for next AP game going to be released?
Be cryptic
I need a reason to start budgeting now for my new pinball machine fund and since I can only pick one or two machines.....

#1790 3 years ago

Sounds like you need to hit a certain number of different shots. Hit the same one and you start again.

#1791 3 years ago

Looking for help on what coil stops and sleeves to buy? Mine are starting to wear after a 1000 plays and miss the snappiness of the flippers from when I first got it.

Thanks!

Hi robotron,
My suggestion, as big as an AP fan as I am, is that if you can try to play it for a dozen or so games before you buy it, please do. I like it but it isn't for everyone.

The motif is you are performing Houdini's magic tricks interwoven in a steampunkish pinball motif. You are right that some of it is pretty hard and not for everyone.

Actually that is probably the advice I give for anyone getting any machine .

shouldnt be that bad for me as i set my games to 5 ball. i like to see modes and flip the ball as long as i can. sometimes ill just play a game and just hit spinners. i also love the “eye candy” aspect i like to turn them on and watch the light show. i dont play for tournament or talent. i like to get lost when i play and forget “life” problems. i also like modding and working on the pins. so with the 5 ball i get less frustrated and i am more patient. ill take your advise i have played one before at a friends house and i remember bricking shots, my pal got rid of it pretty fast. i am a better player now so i hope i can handle it more smoothly. looks like a beautiful machine alot of eye candy which i like. hopefully i can find one to play soon.

I just got to spend some time on my friend's new Hot Wheels. He has a nice collection with several other late model pins. The others are nice, but...

I want a Hot Wheels !

Great sounds. Great shots. All sorts of eye candy with a super light show.

But I have to sell something first. Never thought I would be in this pinball whirlpool.

The Hot Wheels Tachometer and that tach skill shot are 2nd to none. HW shots are tough, but flipper friendly. It is not a drain monster, but it sure kicks me around on the play field.

My want for one is bordering on lust.
