Quoted from Apex:

Are you asking about on top of the hardtop or between the inserts and the hardtop?

On top. They're all doing their job of sealing everything in just fine from what I can tell. It's just that there seems to be all kinds of dust and fuzz on top.. All the time.

Yeah, mine has a lot of static cling, too! And with the Dremeling necessary for hole alignment, it may be a lifetime of dust clean up.
These definitely help: https://www.amazon.com/Schneider-Industries-Micro-Vacuum-Attachment/dp/B000BSJCLY/ref=sr_1_5

Throwing out another vote for the Bally Elektra. At least the upper and small lower playfields. There is a need for these!

I could have sworn they said that f14 is not happening.

Would you guys ever consider doing a Whirlwind hardtop? Mine is in...rough shape and doing a playfield swap would take forever.

#2031 2 years ago

Not sure of the demand but for selfish reasons Fireball Classic would be great!

#2032 2 years ago

God I hope someone makes Jungle Lord plastics some day.

#2033 2 years ago

We show before and after on a Pinbot with the hardtop! Todd at Tnt Amusements.

Uh. Not one to complain but what's up with those skulls? Are they clear and showing the wood color underneath or are they actually the same color as the flesh?

#2039 2 years ago

I'm wondering if there is an active feedback loop with Outside Edge, especially for those who installed earlier product cohorts. It would be great to see standardized longitudinal data on how these things hold up since the product is just a few years out. I LOVE mine on my Pinbot installed about 3 months back. Still looks amazing!

They can probably fix that in 2 minutes in photoshop for the next run

Skulls are not fleshy on the original

Yeah, I'm looking at some pics on Pinside and I can't completely tell if they are wood or medium brown. Some pics appear to have wood grain in them, but I don't have a lot of detail.

Hi All! We wanted to let you know that we have just added JUNGLE LORD to our Hardtop offerings! We ask for a 10 day ship time as we ramp this up. Keep restoring! Also, I happen to know that this plastics set (if it is not yet) will be available soon from several retailers!

They are brown ink on the original.

Bare wood is much lighter on the inlane rollovers

Cool, did you see this recent discussion about the color of the skulls being wrong? Hope there is time to fix it before you get too many printed.

The Caucasian Fleshkulls - punk rock version

Quoted from Charles_Kline:

Because the original playfields only had one coat of clear So this is why the originals are all roached now.
I restored one with a new PPS repro from Hamburg Germany a few years ago. It has a double coat of clear and the quality of the plywood in the repro was also superior to the original! I let it cure for 6 months before installing it and it was solid. vid1900 and GRUMPY helped me with that project! Thank you both so much!!!

I was replying "why" to jcar302's post of F14 hardtop not happening, not why they are so many roached out.

#2049 2 years ago

On the F14 my guess based on owning one would be the issue with numerous inserts raising. If you put on a hardtop and then an insert raises people would be angry and blame hardtop. Only a guess, otherwise I have no clue.

Raised/sunken inserts happen on every title. If you don't level them before you install a Hardtop, that's your choice. Nothing to do with what titles Hardtop is doing.
